Like many others, I am going to attempt a comic series. This is the first type of fanfic that I've ever done and I don't typically share my writing openly. So, please be kind. Hopefully, I will attract some readers.

Forgive me on the special effects as I have limited software resources. If anyone has suggestions on speech bubbles (I don't have Photoshop) instead of using a website to create it, I'd like for you to share your knowledge with me.

My comic is mostly serious with slight humor throughout. A synopsis would probably help understand where I'm going with this so here it is:

Cliffjumper has been called upon to complete a single mission that ends successfully. This surprisingly leads to him being in charge of a seemingly simple mission that goes awry. The other Autobots have their doubts about him and each other which complicates things. Now, he has to convince his crew that he was chosen for a reason and not for a just simple mission.

While on this unfamiliar planet, they learn of a new civilization which they must save. Cliff discovers the Decepticons have some intricate plans for everyone. He must find a way to keep himself, his crew, and the citizens of Mars safe. During this time, there is no way to communicate with Cybertron.

Comic #1; Part 1: Trigger Happy Hero

A nice start, the text is a little on the small side, but otherwise good. As for effects and speech bubbles and such, I have only been using MS paint for mine since it's simple enough to use, you just drag the speech bubble to size, select your font, and type in the text. That aside, once you start really getting a hang of this whole photocomic thing GIMP is a nice tool in your arsenal. It's free but it takes a little bit of getting used to, so I only use it sparingly, but everybody is different.

I actually have GIMP but didn't think to use it. The first couple of comics have been made but I'll try this in the future. Sounds easy enough.

Comic #1; Part 2: Trigger Happy Hero

I experimented with GIMP on the speech bubbles and was impressed with what I could do. From now on, I plan on using it for the pics I haven't already edited.
Here's part two for your enjoyment :)

Sorry for the quality of these pics. They were actually the first ones taken before adding on to the story (which also explains the inconsistent style of speech bubbles). Good news is GIMP is working beautifully for me on the newer comics.

Very interesting story you got going on here. It's bringing in some much needed variety among the new comics that have been posted in the Funnies in recent times. The special effects you've used so far in this comic aren't entirely bad, either.

Consider myself hooked and looking forward to the next installment of this comic. :popcorn

Thanks. I noticed most of the Funnies are humorous so I decided to take a different route. As far as the effects, it's a learning process but hope to get better as I move along. My tablet has actually come in handy for certain scenes.

I'll post another update soon. You can expect things to get more interesting as I like complex stories. Has a little bit of everything.
