So is it strange that these have been in my walmart for about a Month now? They are already on sale at my Target.

I saw one of these at K Mart. The gun it had was bigger than the voyager Primes on the shelves.

The toy just doesn't live up to the expectations. The Leader Optimus figure is a helluva lot nicer than this version, and the trailer-wings look cheap and make him look silly. Definitely not worth $80.

They should have designed a better trailer and just bundled it with the Leader figure and called it the "Ultimate" figure.

I'm not sure Hasbro or Takara ever make these larger electronic toys expecting them to make the same level of profit as smaller ones.

So we aren't allowed to criticize a billion dollar toy company simply because they're a billion dollar toy company? Long story short the toy looks like crap and doesn't justify the hefty price tag.

The toy looks like "crap" to YOU and admittedly quite a few other people on this board have mixed feelings about it, or like it even less than you do.

However it's blatantly obvious this toy was designed for an age group that is far lower than the average age group on this board.

And as many people on this board forget in their blinding sense of entitlement
we ARE a relatively small percentage of Hasbro's business.

um... I like it. I got it for cheap. But either way, I hear some people were able to net it for 40 bucks. Even more power to them. It really is a nice display piece.

They should have made the trailer cover turn into a circle instead of wings, ala God Gundam's power circle. That way it can double as a weapons holder :p

I truly wonder how many times we'll have to explain this fandom that ultimate refers to a size class/price point and not to accuracy/complexity.

my target is selling it for 69.99, while Walmart has sold out. I think I would get him when it is half price.

I've seen it in the store, it's not nearly as bad as some folks say, imho. It's a pretty impressive figure. I didn't love the arms, and I didn't like the price at Walmart ~$65. But I don't get why so many folks hate it, it's far from the worse toy out there, even if it's not movie accurate.

Limited funds make me pick and choose carefully, so I went with the Revoltech for slightly less money. I like the movie accuracy of that one and the flexibility of it for my desk. Hopefully it'll show up soon. :)

AWESOME!! I love toy commercials like this...Good job Hasbro

Do you have it? I was POSSIBLY ITS MOST HARSH CRITIC on these boards, I even got multiple death threats via email from Optimus Prime himself saying "STFU.....a big optimus prime with a trailer is the RIGHT of all transformers fans...."

A I was one of its most harsh critics, I have NO problem admitting when I was wrong...and I was...its COOL. yes..it has problems..but ITS COOOOOL. All the bitching about leg articulation...it could have made this thing worse being a falling over floppy mess. As it is its a cool toy...like I said...DEF not for lil kids..but its cool. I dont like the butterfly look, I make it look like a cape, and thet my friend, really rocks.

I'm not really a fan of it, but I've seen more then my fair share of kids in the toy isle asking their parents for it. So while it might not be up every collectors alley, the kids love this thing.

Articulation isn't everything, and sometimes all I want is a blockbuster sequel to Powermaster Prime. Y'know, more of the same but with so much more of the same.
Job done. Take a bow, Mr Ultimate. Oh wait, you can't.. never mind - you're still awesome.

My sister go this for me for my birthday.
I really like it -I question some of the design choices, but I really like it.

The movie scenes in that commercial really make me lament the fact that we never actually saw Prime merge with the trailer in the movie. :(

    LOL -nice one. :thumb

It turns out to be a pretty fun toy. I wish the trailer was in better scale, but besides that I'm really glad i bought it. I have Jetwing Prime as well, and am still happy iboqb this one.

Best part of the commercial is that they had to include the disclaimer: "Change times may vary." Lol.
