I wanted a teletraan-x toy and there wasnt one, so i decided to uhh make one. It all begins with the concept art. I made some rough concepts on how the toy would look, based on the way he looks in the show, from a few different angles. I also planned on adding his arm from the show, but didnt want it to be a permanant feature, so i designed a way for the arm to collapse inside his body. Seeing as he didnt need to really need to do much besides stand there, this was pretty easy. Then it was time to build the figure itself! I began by rolling up a tinfoil ball. This would provide most of the build, and allow it to be hollowed out later. Then i sculpted on top of the tinfoil using apoxie sculpt, and added in some details. I left out the side pieces and eye as i planned on sculpting those seperate. I then began to create the arm, which was made by hollowing out an old iPhone charger, and adding a copper wire inside of it, with some extra padding to fill it out. Then i molded the hand part, and a stopper piece so the arm wouldnt fall out of the body. I then let the parts set for a couple hours. I made sure it didnt set completley, as this stuff hardens really rough, so i made sure it was hard enough not to ruin the sculpt, but soft enough to cut. I then cut the part in half. I then glued everything back together, and the build was done. All that was left, was to paint him. Then i painted the figure using some thinned acrylic paint, and sealed the full thing with tesors dullcote top coat. The figure in the end looked a little bumpy due to the sculpt, but i still love him lol Im quite proud of this, as its the first thing ive built entirley from scratch, that actually worked! Thank you for reading!
That looks AWESOME! I do recommend you give it the light orange paint job to make it look even better.
