My toddler is hard on his bots, and while he can be shockingly good at transforming more challenging figures (he’s pretty close to getting Siege Optimus), he’s just not there. I hate the way these things look, but they’re excellent for the intended age group. And they LOVE lights, sounds, launchers - all the crap I would gladly give up for better paint and articulation. He doesn’t notice it’s missing.

They won't. The Cyberverse stuff does it because kids interact with the gimmick which helps sell the toy. Kingdom switched to the smaller windows with no plastic inside to minimize plastic use. If anything, Generations will head towards full boxes with no window.

With the newer boxart they're finding ways to make it way flashier. And companies like Bandai have been doing that with stuff like Sentai and Kamen Rider for YEARS with no issue selling figures.

HasTak already does it with Commanders/Titans.

That Cybertronian Optimus design is pretty cool, I’d like to see a Deluxe class version of it.

Guess what, kids can also buy Generations figures which are more on par with the figures from Prime and earlier. It's not like these are the only options available.

A two cent LED and $.05 voice chip doesn't make a $50 toy.

Throwing these in a dumpster would be an insult to the dumpster.

I don't care how much you want to claim budgets were slashed. That thing can be made for less than $5 a pop in Vietnam all day long. There are better knockoffs on SirToys.

Or maybe it's for adult collectors who remember their childhood when they wanted self-transforming toys? If you watch the promotional video for Bumblebee, it's a pretty neat transformation and my 7-year-old self was pointing and saying "I want that!". Now, I need another giant Bumblebee like I need another hole in my head but I'm a sucker for Optimus Prime. If I ever come across one at ROSS for $20-25, I'll probably buy it for kicks.

It's similar to other fans that waved off the one-step changers and completely missed how fun some of them are to fidget with.

But I'll be the first to admit not every Cyberverse gimmick-former is gold. Iaconus deserved much better than he got...:(

Don't forget that 1984 toys were aimed towards the same age of child as Cyberverse is, and not adult collectors.

Nah, they were way lower quality than generations deluxes. I picked up megatron, hotrod, and grimlock and they all wer lacking in paint, felt very light, and had pretty poor qc. Much cheaper than a kingdom figure.

Agree. They were definitely not on par with WFC deluxe figures. Like, not even close.

Starscream ended up the best of the 11 released so far and clearly benefitted without the BAF nonsense.

They are more like Battlechargers, especially Bee. Not that interested but nice that they have OK articulation. Also, Prime with a mouth, that\'s new for this line.

These look good for what they are. They look like a good step up for the kids growing out of rescue bots and giving them as base without having to leap towards the generations stuff so not a super steep learning curve.

Also heres a link to video footage of bee transforming New Transformers Cyberverse Figures Roll Out, Then Transform

Sweet Solus Prime! That looks cool. I don't need a 5th Cyberverse Bumblebee, but if I did, that would be the one I would get.

Nice headsculpts and parts of it actually look nice.  Not $50 nice, but nice.  I would pick a couple up for $15.

You quite literally just posted a toy that has a equally simple transformation yet less articulation than the average Cyberverse Warrior figure.

Wowzers, okay that is a MUCH cooler transformation than I thought it'd be. And hey, it's not $700!
