(This one’s a bit lengthy, so bear with me :) ) Cyberverse Energon Armor Shockwave, a toy I thought I would never own. But it’s a weird world, and here I am.
    AD08DCD9-5A14-49CF-93C1-7B25913D38E9.jpeg
He’s a big one. I like popping him in with my Prime Wars leaders, like Rodimus and Soundwave. He has plenty of fun details and is actually pretty well-sculpted.
    94E465B1-F3F9-47DC-898C-D610F0B10BB7.jpeg A94C3CC1-6DF1-4FBF-82D4-68B39212D0C4.jpeg
Before this shoot, I, like most others undoubtedly do, viewed him as a silly kiddie toy, as he is chock-full of spring gimmicks and bright colours. But as soon as I started slapping filters on him, my perception changed. This dude is super photogenic. He just changes completely and takes on the filter. It’s gorgeous!
    E2CDFABE-DA54-4777-9E41-FF20DA416084.jpeg
His vibrant pink pops all through his panel lines and covers his massive laser gun, which can clip over either arm with the hands retracted. Imagination can label it as an upgrade to his gun-hand, or it can be wielded on the other side for guns akimbo action!
    241E9340-324B-4C6E-8D76-10B1E96CD4CA.jpeg
Posability is admittedly very sad. His arms are decent, but his legs are bricks, loaded to the brim with gimmick stuff. You can however rotate his leg panel things for that splayed, natural, relaxed leg look. These joints exist to create his alternate mode through a simple transformation.
    16BB3B7C-12C7-4D4F-AF70-CF917D068BAE.jpeg
    And, um, what is it?
    E3B60CD5-3FCD-4B64-B203-95308946E99E.jpeg
Besides an awesome death machine that wants to crush your micromasters.
    D591D2B4-F20E-4859-A046-D1C5A9697068.jpeg
His main gimmick is accessible after returning him to robot mode by means of a spring-loaded automatic spin transformation that sometimes works.
    8CB1689C-CE90-44B0-AB8B-A5A5C4F7053B.jpeg
Pop that pink laser on and pull down his grey hip things and his clear red armour pops on over him. That little gimmick is so much fun, I could do it all day.
    BB8EF8C3-A5A0-4E91-B05D-127D27542D4A.jpeg
It’s pretty neat. Got some nice detailing on it. Oddly (at least to me) his face is replaced.
    0F91B7A6-283D-476C-8158-E70C12CDA85E.jpeg
It looks cool. He’s not staying in it though. It’s a bit fiddly to compact it on his back again, but it might be easier if I’d read the instructions, which I did not. Once that’s done, we can get back to the base toy. His hand has a 5mm port on it.
    AB98BC39-C3A0-435C-B54C-7203A9E5E45A.jpeg
That’s neat. Here’s some friends for scale.
    0919E945-2DD5-4950-A6CD-9CDB20416B50.jpeg
Together with Sky-Byte, that’s my entire showing for Cyberverse. Neither is bad in any way, and each surprised me. Both were gifts from kind friends and family, and while I fully expected to love them due to how much those people mean to me, I pleasantly found some dang nice and fun toys in them. The only other Cyberverse figure I’d ever get is that Skullcruncher, or Skullsmasher or whatever they’re calling him this year.
    0DAE13EC-7792-48E0-87A3-16E2F8FDBA99.jpeg
So, he’s a fun one. It’s a little hard trying to figure out where to put him, as he doesn’t quite fit in with my predominantly CHUG collection, and he’s a bit big for a deskbot. But I love him. And any kiddos will probably have loads of fun with him, I mean, I’m not a kid, and even I have fun with his gimmicks!

Side note, check out Sky-Byte’s pose in that last one. He’s a one-step changer, and that’s an awesome pose!

I really can't believe Windblade still doesn't have a deluxe toy, or a WFC toy....

    Did Hasbro forget her?

i'll be pleasantly surprised if they'll make a deluxe cyberverse windblade, because the warrior class toy is already pretty good... despite the gimmick and the fact that her head doesn't turn, she has double-jointed knees, a waist swivel and a good range of movement on the arms. she doesn't come with a sword but her hands are compatible with the ones from her other toys

i'd love a new chug wb tho

Wave 1 is completed with the arrival of Optimus and Bumblebee. I will give Bumblebee's gun to Netflix Bee later.

Only got Starscream for wave 3 and not planning to get the others. Not having BAF clearly shows positive effects on Starscream: 5 base plastic colors, generous paint apps, better overall joints, and posing that's closer to WFC bots.

Unfortunately, there's no flight stand port for his alt mode, which is a bummer. The exposed hands in alt mode and hollow bits are annoying.

Fixed the blast effects warps with a heat gun. If you're lucky, exposure to heat alone will cause the effects to straighten out by themselves. This was the case for Starscream's effects. For Arcee, not so much and needed additional manual manipulation.

Best ankle tilts yet. Take that Thunderhowl! Blast effects look better after fixing the warps.

    Where's my flight stand port?!

I got Deluxe Grimlock for Christmas. I think his bot mode is alright. His Dino mode is hilariously cute.

To those that have Cyberverse Deluxe Starscream and/or Soundwave, are they worth getting as companion pieces to Cyberverse Deluxe Megatron and Shockwave?

It'd be more like Megatron and Shockwave being companion pieces to Starscream. He's a quite a bit better than those 2.

On that note, does anyone have a recommended buying order for the Deluxes after Megatron and Shockwave, whom I have already?
