Crossovers are neat, but without any real meaty details about what it would have been, there's not a ton to go off on. Without knowing the author(s) especially makes it tough to know what kind of story it'd have been. Could it have been a great bit of fun? Maybe. Could it have gotten everyone knives out at each other? Maybe. Could it have been a collection of the most tired and obvious jokes? Maybe.

I'll still be open to a neat multiverse adventure in the future, but for now I'll just take this as an opportunity to enjoy another cool Milne cover.

It was the writing in IDW1 I had in mind when I made that comment.

Just curious has Transformers ever had a Multiverse type story before?

Mostly Convention exclusive comics, I think.

Dreamwave’s Armada series had a four part story called “World’s Collide” that had a multiversal element to it.

Joana Lafuente has tweeted the clean version of her cover of Regeneration One Starscream reaching for a Necrobot flower.

Clearly, this would have been a Dr Who / G1 crossover, where Starscream has to reach some time-travelling jellyfish in the timestream. Or at least it looks like that.

Because if we knew anything about IDW, it is how they can handle multiple continuities well...
...Ah yeah, no they couldn't. Characters changes behavior and acted like completely different people every time a new writer took over.

You jest (probably) but it's actually Starscream from the Regeneration One timeline trying to reach for a sparkling blue flower from the IDW 2005 timeline. The context is unknown.

(Side note: I legit thought we had gotten news that this would be the first book by Skybound or whoever takes over TF comics. Now I'm sad. :( )

Especially since Corey Burton has voiced both Shockwave AND Brainiac before. :)
I do always associate Darkseid more with Jhiaxus, both being unbeatable tyrants who barely consider the heroes like Superman an irritation in their grand empire. Plus, Jhiaxus even had that Darkseid chin structure. :D  Unicron is more on the level of Galactus or in DC terms, the Anti-Monitor, a primal force of evil and entropy.

Funny, though, aren't Energon, Armada and Cybertron Starscream all the same character?

Ah, those weird flowers. One of those first signs where I started to question where Roberts was going with all this. Though, Starscream was in Barber's book so he likely never even knew about the Necrobot.

I have no trust in IDW whatsoever. Not just TFs, their TMNT comics went off on such tangents it is practically unrecognizable now. And from what I heard their GI Joe comics were not any better.

Always felt like IDW1.0 Springer would have been a cast member of Collision Course, picking up right after he jumped into the Timemaze in Requiem. Which was teasing multiverse potential.

So... My random question as someone who never followed the non-Hama G.I. Joe comics...

Didn't Joe crossover with IDW 1.0? Did they acknowledge the reboot in Joe comics?

Did IDW 2.0 ever acknowledge Earth outside of Lost Bot Standing?

Earth is never mentioned in IDW2 as far as I know, and Last Bot Standing isn't IDW2.

Don't know about IDW, but in the cartoon, 2 were ...kindof.

Energon Starscream was a resurrection of Armada Starscream, but with his memories and individuality erased. So like an opposite clone.
Kindof like Beasties cartoon Dinobot 2 was an unrelated separate creation, but who somehow connected to original Dinobot's dead spark.

As for Cybertron, the toyline was a continuation, and Hasbro hastily claimed so was the cartoon.
But when it aired, the cartoon was a complete reboot, with the main Autobots and Decepticons coming to Earth for the 1st time (while Armada took place on Earth). Also, the humans had never met Transformers, while in Armada they already made 1st contact, then in Energon the Autobots had an extensive partnership with the humans both on and off planet.

Ehhhh yes and no. Armada Starscream dies and is resurrected in Energon as a half-alive, half-ghost thing who has no memories of his prior life, essentially a blank slate. Energon Megs winds up screwing with him and turning him into what could best be described as a slave that doesn’t know he’s a slave. After Energon, he regains his independence, but is now more like his G1 counterpart than his old Armada self.

It\'s interesting to me that this apparently made it far enough down the production line to have several covers created

    That's a pretty awesome cover.

I'm still glad this didn't end up happening.

the idw1 universe used Revolution, Revolutionaries, and some supplemental material to weave together 11 years worth of disparate Transformers and GIJoe 2005 continuity (which i assume is what you mean by "non-Hama") Chuckles and the nuking of Nanzhao were mentioned. post Revolution, Skywarp was a member of Scarlett's Joe team during Sitterson's run of the book.
