To be fair, they could do something completely left field or completely predictable.

 

I actually didn't realize this was a retool of Studio 'fire until it was pointed out. Almost everything aside from the vehicle shell looks to have been changed up.

As for the figure itself, I...kinda love it? It's dorky as fuck, has all the best-worst elements from the Jim Lee designs, laser claws, and way too much cobalt blue.

after thinking on this guy more he's actually made me retroactively start liking Ectrotron and Gigawatt too. Neither of which i planned on getting, but now I feel like I have to just to go with this guy. Like a while squad of bots who travel the multiverse. individualy they kind dont do anything, but thinking of them like a team now and just. ooooh boy.

 

So PJ Masks or M.A.S.K. out of left field or G.I. Joe or Power Rangers as predictable.

They kind of slipped MASK in with a Micromaster pack that was full of MASK homages.

 

Maybe I'm holding on to old feelings about the TF crossover toys from 200X.

Ectotron looked like a neat idea, but I never worked up enough interest to actually buy one.
Gigawatt I like a lot, mainly as it builds on designs I enjoy from both sides.
Maverick - kinda hurts to look at.

This one... While I don't think it looks BAD, per se, it does channel a lot of that ugly, messy, kibbly, "superhero but made up as a robot" energy from the first Marvel TF crossover toys, IMO, which turns me off. Don't think I'll bother with this one.

(I do wonder how this will sell. I imagine Hasbro might be thinking "That Haslab Sentinel hit its goal so fast! This will make SO much bank!" )

 

Honestly I felt the Marvel ones integrated the alt modes a lot better than the star wars ones. Marvel used the vehicles to make the costumes in interesting ways (I still love muscle car venom and ghost rider turning into his bike)

 

That's more jet plane head than gerwalk.

Also, a Transformers Power Rangers hybrid figure seems redundant.

I never jump on here to be solely be negative, so I\'ll say I dig the colors, and the Cyclops suit it homages. Other than that, Transformers being my favorite cartoon and X-Men being my favorite comic, this kinda stinks. I\'m happy for all of you that are into it.

 

Two franchises I love. I’ve been a Transformers fan since 1984 and X-Men since 1986.

 

This ended up pretty much as expected. better than maverick though so it has that going for it plus it avoid the problems i always had with the marvel cross overs.

 

Might actually be the first Transformers crossover figure I buy, it just looks cool and has great accessories.

 

He could be a different, nonferrous metal. Magneto only affects iron, nickel, and one other I forget off the top of my head

 

Well it looks cool overall. I could have used a little less X-Men uniform in the robot mode, but it's not bad.

The weird part is the jet mode. It's not accurate to either a real Blackbird or any X-Jet that I know of. Also the wings are flipped in the promo pics versus the box. The box makes more sense so hopefully that's how they end up.

He's somewhere just a little short of great in my opinion. But he's close.

 

Pretty cool upgrade from the Marvel crossover they used to have. Much better than most of the older Star Wars crossover, too.
