I love that packaging. It makes me wish Xmen toys were fun like in the 90s
Paramount doesn't own the X-Jet nor do they own the SR-71. This figure is far and away from Jetfire himself, there'd be no basis for Paramount to get uppity about it
Guess that's just another instance of Pixelmaster's sources being wrong (just like saying that this was hollow and a new low for collab figures)
As I recall, that only applied to toys specifically made for the first live-action Transformers movie. A Studio Series mold (much less one patterned off of something from a later movie) wouldn't have that restriction.
Pixelmaster claimed at one point that it was any figure derived from a paramount design, X-Spanse would fit in that category as he is a figure derived from a figure derived from a paramount design
Where does that telepathy part effect go? Sad, was hoping to see that used. Reminds me of Professor X or Psylocke?
Also, this makes so much more sense when you realize hasbro loves to at least get two uses out of their molds lol
Looks pretty solid, packaging is super retro Toy Biz love
EDIT: Nevermind, wtf. they have that part effect on wolverine? LOL that doesn't even make sense. I think whoever took the photos didn't know what to do with it.
Don't give them any ideas.
Maketoys Jetfire is pretty close if you want one now.
Who keeps coming up with these stock images? That mistransformed stock image makes the toy look not great...
And I’m saying that I don’t think that’s correct.
You may not like it, but if stuff was erased from existence just because someone didn't like something there would be nothing left.
This figure existing doesn't negatively impact you
Voltron, TMNT, Sonic, DOOM and Warhammer 40k are waiting for their turn.
About of this mold.
I thought it would look like G1 Cyclonus or ROTF Jetfire.
P.S That mistransformation of this mold, just describes the literal translation of X-Men.
It'll be repaint after repaint and repaint.
Oh I agree, more and more his "insider information" is turning out to be incorrect so either his sources are feeding him crap or he is making it up. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and he has provided some solid info on figures themselves so I think it's more his sources giving him bad info consistently
eh, I love Jim Lee designs and the animated aesthetic. this is busier then that, both with design elements and vehicle kibble/color layout.
which makes it even weirder that they didn't do the accurate 70s/80s Cockrum/Byrne accurate Blackbird instead of this weird middle ground.
Color me happy. I love all of the nostalgia here. Is it a perfect Blackbird? No. Is it a perfect crossover? No, but they never are. My biggest gripe is that I wish they would have found a way to incorporate more of the jet kibble into the bot mode (ala Gigawatt's chest, Ecto's shoulders, etc.) Regardless it looks fun and he will look great with Vader, Etcotron, Gigawatt, Vexo Prominon, the old Splinter/Turtle Van Mutations figure, and (I suppose) Maverick on my crossovers shelf.
How come no one is asking where that butterfly-shaped effect piece attaches? I hope it has some way to attach to his face/head like the Psylocke figure! Why is the only picture of it in use showing it on Wolverine's waist?
Does it look like the wrist port for the pink effect pieces is a 5mm port? If so, I already laser cut a pair of claws for him once he eventually lands
Like I said earlier, the "leaks" that suggest a certain reception ("SG will be super popular!", "Kingdom Cheetor is a controversial mess.", "X-Spanse is worse than Maverick") are now 0-3. And that's not even a knock on the figures or the people who like/dislike them.
It's just a sign that these types of leaks are well and truly worthless. Either tell us what the figure is or don't. But don't bother leaking what you think of the figure because it's completely irrelevant if none of us have seen it.
The Pulse POs won't go up until March 1st. At which point I'm wondering if they're just orders and not even POs.
While he\'s a bit wonky, especially with those upper panels, he honestly looks cooler than the other three that I didn\'t want. Just preordered him, as I love the 90\'s cornyness to it. It actually feels like an X-Men member, unlike the other recent crossovers. I guess it was modeled to fit in with the older Marvel crossovers.
Fair to the Maverick release. There's no other F14 Tomcat Transformer out there and I still like it out of alt mode appreciation alone. Sure it could've been better but it's also a legit Tomcat.
