I dont hate it like the other crossovers have been for me, but the price is a hard pass for now.

So this will be the biggest figure in the line yet correct?

Ectotron and Maverick are Voyagers, and this guy is a Leader mold right?

Nope, the only thing inherently Cyclops about it is the visor. Plenty of X-Men have had blue and yellow costumes, plenty have had pouches, plenty have had yellow belts

You do realize there is no need to get snippy right? You made a claim, I refuted it and gave a reason for why your claim was wrong. Now you're becoming passive aggressive without need for it.

You know all this costume arguing, one could say it looks kinda like a Deadpool outfit too.

past SW\Marvel crossover TFs have always been a little underwhelming to me for the most part, but this guy doesn't look bad at all! Yeah these type of crossovers are inherently kinda goofy, but I'm a sucker for the X-Jet and those Jim Lee era X-thetics (see what I did there?). The color scheme is nice, the proportions are good, the face schulp is awesome, the kibble is mostly stylish, the alt mode is great and the toy even looks pretty nicely posable. Yeah, there's that one photo making him look like a hunchback turtle caught in the middle of retriating into its shell, but on the resto of the photos where the toy isn't mistransformed it looks pretty neat. Kinda wish the claws were more traditional Wolverine style metallic blades, but get they're going for some optic blast\Wolvie claw thing.

Unless this guy's gonna be some exclusive that's a pain in the ass to get I think I'll have my first crossover figure. I'd also like to see one done in a color scheme reflecting the referenced characters' '80s look, what with TF as a franchise having such strong connotations with the decade and what not.

I stacked up the savings to get Sky Lynx. Price-matched Amazon when they had him at $70 and then knocked an additional 25% off, plus the 5% from the Red Card. Walked out with one for $50. So burning the coupon there when I didn't know this dude was coming is okay in my book. And yeah, $64 is steep...but 25% off $70 is more than 25% off $64. But, as always, YMMV.

I think that's the intent. He's got Cyclops' visor, Wolverine's claw, Psylock's blade, and the little psychic wave that they use in the comics to denote someone using their mental powers.

New character. All of the crossover figures up until now have been new characters. Until we see otherwise, there's enough precedent to assume that's the mission statement of these crossovers. And it's smart. New characters mean no previous expectations in terms of bot mode (or alt mode).

It's fine if he looks like Cyclops because he isn't Cyclops. But the upside of doing that is if X-Men fans aren't as attracted to him as a new character...they can flip down the visor and pretend it's Cyclops.

Mine is "Melodramatic Plothole" but to each their own.

Honestly I love the retro box more than the figure. Yet another autobot mashup. Boring. They could have at least leaned into the single arm "psionic knife" accessory and given us a psylocke robot that made nicee look like a nun. Then at least we could all scream and cry about it instead of quibbling over whether or not he looks like Cyclops, whose actual mutant power is the inability to sustain an interesting personality or plotline.

Without the visor on, that face reminds me of some sort of maniac bot from IDW.:confused2

Besides that, it looks amazing. I'm not a fan of the X-men or superheroes in general but this looks soo good. Now, don't know why I have the feeling of if this bot being painted as G1 toy Jetfire would be an insta buy for me.

Well great, already sold out on HBP, and Target is a pain in the ass to pre-order from since they keep charging you.

I'll just wait for it to be available from gamestop.

Look, I'm not trying to get into an argument, but this figure IS NOT using the Jim Lee Cyclops design (as claimed) and no amount of arguing back and forth will change that.

That would be kinda hilarious if this got repainted in to "Young Jetfire." Or "BB Movie Jetfire."

    Looks cool.

I'm glad they went with the melange of different characters with a yellow and blue color scheme.
    Blast effects are cool too.

    Cons

    Price
I would have preferred a more G1 style box like Ecto.

I think everyone is just complaining bc of the price.

I have never pre-ordered a TF before but it looks like this will be my first.

So is this a Target exclusive or general release?

I don't know about the math, but by and large Scott's costumes have tilted towards "Generic X-Men." It makes sense that anything made to look like a not-specific X-Man would end up looking like Cyclops. Add the belts across the chest, the utility belt , and the visor and I think it is clearly trying to evoke Jim Lee's Cyclops without mimicking it. That makes some sense given that is his then-new costume on X-Men #1 (or at least the most common variant cover), which is celebrating it's 30th anniversary (#^@& I'm old) in 2021.
