Bleeding Cool is prone to getting things wrong. As outlets go, the national enquirer is more accurate. It's gotten to the point many places feed them 'bad stories' intentionally to see if they'll run it.

That may not be because of any movie announcements though, that could also be because of the Power Rangers toy rights acquisition and other reveals. Rumor alone of the power rangers acquisition would have sent me running to buy Hasbro stock.

A movie reboot would impact Paramount's parent company more than hasbro anyway. Hasbro profits on toy sales and toy licenses mostly with added revenue from the entertainment ventures that push consumer goods. So a movie reboot without any proof on how that'd impact toy sales of new movie material that's not announced or even made isn't likely to fluctuate the stock at all. Whereas the acquisition of Power Rangers, which means more consumer goods sold, is an indication of healthy upcoming profit booms. Which would increase the stock. But Hasbro stock also steadily increases, splits, and then increases again almost like clockwork.

 

It's going to be a shitshow when the fandom finds out there won't be a reboot after all  

 

Someone's getting hands. I'm starting to make peace with a reboot. Don't fill me with a glimspe of hope, then rip it away. I really want the Sequel to TF5 before the reboot. :'( Just to see the gang one last time.

Quick bit of advice on bleeding cool stuff, always triple verify anything from them. 9 times out of 10, they ad-libbed to gossip rag kind of levels.

They've got 11 years of wiggle room before they absolutely will probably push through a reboot for the 50th.

Yup. Though, it's a natural reaction for such prosperous franchise. I guess it's luxury to say what we want out of a movie versus when a movie will happen like a long while ago.

 

If they wanted to do a reboot, please make Transformers movie cartoon version instead of movie version, heehee

 

Hasbro Announces Resetting, Prequel, Sequel, Reboot Transformers Movie Coming to Theaters 2020.

 

To be honest I'd settle for Transformers 6 in Animated form.

Dislike or like the transformers movies, we need not just a reboot, but a fresh new air, something new and pleasing.


The current movie franchise has a lost potential, and i do hope in future installaments (be reboot or not), they've learned their errors to not repeat again the same flaws.

 

Okay, so allegedly the official official word is: "No plans" until at least 2021. Well that's not surprising since the animated feature is still being made anyway and there's been no box office numbers at all yet about Bumblebee that'd be the real deciding factor on what comes next.

Speaking of, anyone else find it odd we didn't see one VW Bumblebee transformer at Toyfair?
Or are they saving that for SDCC where the real fan hype usually goes.
