Hey folks! Just wanted to see what characters in the G1 continuity You still have trouble remembering/identifying. Off the top of my head mines has to be:

- The Aerialbots (Only can identify Silverbolt and Slingshot)

- The ConeHeads (Still to this day I get their names mixed up lol)

- Probably most of the Head and Target Masters unfortunately.

Hope to see what others come up with.

How do you not remember that Fireflight is red?

 

Definitely the Head Masters and Target Masters, mainly because there were so many of them and they were only in 3 episodes. I have an easier time with the body’s names but not the actual heads and weapons names.

 

The Autobot Targemasters and Powermasters are a mystery to me, even though somehow I can remember all the Decepticon ones just fine.

 

All the Aerialbots.

 

Because they're all red.

And yeah I really can't identify most of the combiner limbs.

I know the Combaticons, the Protectobot, and all the Beast Combiners because they actually all have completely different alt modes that make them easily identifiable but everyone else just kind of all blend together... except Dragstrip who I remember because I use to really like those type of race cars that him and Mirage turn into when I was younger. The other three Stunticons, forget it.

That's why I like Alpha Bravo and Offroad cause it adds more variation than just the red and white plane. Which red and white plane?

I also often confuse Metroplex and Fortress Maximus as I admitted in another thread.

Even looking at them side by side in hand like I literally have them in hand and I'm still not sure which one is Laserbeak and which one is Buzzsaw. I think Laserbeak is the red one and Buzzsaw is the gold one but the thing is those cannon/rocket pack things cover up must of the color variation between the two. It's just that one panel that's clearly a different color and everything else is nearly identical so I never know which one I'm looking at.

Any Dinobot who isn't Grimlock or Swoop. And in this case it's not about their appearance being too similar but about their names being too similar. Slag, Snarl, Sludge... made worse by changing Slag to Slug so it's even more similar to Sludge and also in some instances Hasbro themselves even mixing up their names like in Animated where Slag is Snarl. How can I get their names right if the fiction can't even get their names right?

Half of the Constructions. This is both similar vehicles and similar names and Hasbro also seemingly mixing up the names as well... Scavenger and Scrapper are very similar names that I constantly mix up. Scrapper and Bonecrusher have very similar vehicle modes that I constantly mix up. And it also doesn't help that all three of these names are often name slapped on completely different vehicles. Like Armada Scavenger looks more like Scrapper. Animated Scrapper looks more like Scavenger. And movie Bonecrusher looks like he also should have been called Scavenger.

Mixmaster is always a cement truck, Long Haul is always a dump truck, and Hook is always a crane so no problems there but the other three are confusing as hell.

Also should we count Reflector? I mean the cartoon never used their individual names in the first place and two if them looked identical... and due to animation errors some times all three looked identical so do to the nature of how the character was used in the cartoon if you claim to be able to identify them I'm calling you a liar.

 

I don't think I can name any of the Constructicons properly.

 

Which Vehicon is Steve.

 

I'm good from 1984 to 1988 but just give up when we hit Micromasters and Pretenders.

The generics. Not only I cannot identify none of them, but they are look the same.

 

Who even is this guy? I feel like I see him everywhere but I just cannot remember his name. It's like there's something about him that makes him completely forgettable the moment he leaves your sight...

Basically, anything that showed up after '86 (TF cartoons never reached S3 in the UK) is tricky for me.

The constructicons, especially in bot mode.
The Aerialbots, all except Silverbolt.
Most micromasters.
The heads and guns of headmasters and targetmasters.

 

The first time I heard the name Scrounge I thought someone was talking about Scourge and spelled his name wrong. I still don't really know who Scrounge is and keep thinking it's Scourge.

 

airielbots because like already their basically the same character anyway and most f the constructicons aside from Mixmaster. I can never remember which name relates to which bot

 

Doesn't help that Scavenger has the nickname Scrounge in his profile. Scrapper calls him Scrounge in the G1 episode, Heavy Metal Wars.

I'd have to say the Japanese Micromasters. Also the Micromaster Combiner Squads and Double Targetmaster Nebulans can be forgettable.
