Turns out an animator is better at directing a movie where the main character is a CG-animated creature than someone who just wants to blow sh!t up. Weird, right?

I'd love to see more of this storyboard.

If I am not mistaken, Michael Bay does not storyboard much and he pretty much just "shoot for the edit".

You talking about cartoon series , animated transformers movie all I saw in cartoons and cartoon movie was transformers wanting blow crap up and each other but in cartoons transformers have aim as stormtroopers couldn’t hit enemy with gun if there where standing next to each other they connect with punches and kicks a lot but laser fire 99 percent time they hit nothing in episode expect for rocks and buildings

So expressive I love it. And especially the other robots seen give some great personality. Storyboards help! Please make another good film.

How about we start with letting bumble bee talk. Tried of Hasbro treating him like a dog, human pet.

You’re missing a whole sense that the audience can’t get in touch with.

Yeah I want him to talk again properly. Although it would kinda ruin the connection established in bumblebee. Maybe everyone else should talk but he continues the radio talk. That’d be nice.

Problem is that Bumblebee gave us a way to do it right for once and not for pop culture references, sex jokes, or R2D2 speak. Eyes, "ears", and body movement mean everything and this movie gave some good examples of how a voiceless robot can still "talk" to people. Takes a guy who's done this sort of thing in films to know how to.

I'm fine with what Bee established, but I'll be okay if they can get his voice back in another film or two.

Exactly. It’s a great method of creating character. So credit is deserved here for what they had to work with and with all the prequel/reboot conditions. But yeah voice back would be great. Especially with the voice actor they used, I really liked him. Also I’d prefer if they used his battle make more often. I just love how it looks more like the g1 toy head even with the ears. It’s a neat reference and I prefer it to his normal bayverse styled face. Although that in turn would limit the expression I love.

I feel like the only person who doesn’t have a problem with Bee’s radio voice. Bay obviously fucked the concept with his brand of sexist/racist/crude humor, but Travis showed that with the right director a radio-mouthed BB that isn’t annoying or stupid is possible.

"simpler look, one that focused more on the character’s emotional core than on his mechanical bells and whistles."
Explain then why this one still has so many unnecessary parts between the panels.

He kinda does. If I remember correctly he used Previz or something to storyboard the action scenes.

If you mean like Shatter and Dropkick... maybe to give it a smooth link between this movie and the bayverse movies?
