Wheeljack and Rack n' Ruin are hitting US shelves now, too.

Picked these up at the Fishers, IN Target today.

 

Oh wait, these weren\'t reported yet? I saw them at my Target yesterday!

 

Yeah this is news to me too that these weren't reported yet. Found Rack'N'Ruin a few days ago and even just made a new comic update featuring him.  

 

That Bumblebee is new as well because the wave he was supposed to debut in was never released anywhere in the world!

I was not sure about it. Which wave was this supposed to be released?

 

This gets very confusing.

Scout Class Bumblebee (which is actually an all-new sculpt, not a retool of the Cyberverse Scout Class wave 1 figure) was originally revealed by Hasbro as part of a batch of stock renders provided to fan sites a few days after last year's San Diego Comic-Con. For whatever reason, Seibertron was the only site that ever posted these renders of Scout Class Bumblebee, which is why most people weren't even aware of it.

Eventually, Bumblebee was also listed at Amazon and Target, complete with stock photos, including the packaging.

However, no online retailer ever solicited an actual wave assortment containing the figure, and therefore, I can only deduce, based on the evidence I have, which wave he would have been released in, and which other figures might have also been included in that wave.

Entertainment Earth is where I get wave numbers from.

Wave 5 was released in many countries and featured the debut of an Optimus Prime retool and Scraplet (plus re-releases of Starscream and Grimlock), all of them in "Power of the Spark" packaging.


Entertainment Earth doesn't list a "wave 6" at all, which would be located here if it existed. Supposedly, this would have been the wave that would have seen the debut of this new Bumblebee, as well as re-releases of Ratchet and Megatron in "Power of the Spark" packaging.


Instead, all retailers around the world skipped straight ahead to a wave featuring new figures Dead End and Ramjet wave in "Battle for Cybertron" packaging (as well as re-releases of Grimlock and Optimus Prime, the latter in "Bumblebee: Cyberverse Adventures" packaging). Entertainment Earth calls this "wave 8".


Following that came the wave (thus far released in the United Kingdom and the United States) containing Wheeljack, that previously unreleased new Bumblebee figure, now in "Bumblebee: Cyberverse Adventures" packaging, plus another re-release of Megatron (also now in "Bumblebee: Cyberverse Adventures" packaging, as well as Optimus Prime again). According to Entertainment Earth, this is wave 7".




So apparently Bumblebee was supposed to debut in wave 6, which was officially unsolicited, making "wave 7" his actual debut. Except that wave 6 remains unreleased, which would technically make wave 7 "wave 6" contrary to the official numbering. Additionally, "wave 7" was released considerably later than "wave 8". While there have been instances in the past where the release order of waves at retail didn't match the official wave numbering, those were usually released in close succession, not several months apart.

 

Alllright, hopefully my Amazon order I made in like July for the new scout Bumblebee will finally be fulfilled soon then...

Thank you Hasbro for completely destroying my favorite Autobot from 1984. The reason Wheeljack was my favorite was because of his awesome original toy face that actually looked like a robot. I'm so happy you just couldn't leave it alone. Now he's completely unrecognizable & looks more like Wreck Gar.

Not to be rude, but this isn’t the first time they’ve done this, and this isn’t G1, so your Wheeljack can remain pure forever.

 

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, a Scout Class Hive Swarm Bumblebee in Power of the Spark packaging would be extremely rare and probably worth a few pennies, right?

 

That's assuming
a) it even made it to the production stage
b) you find someone willing to pay money for a Cyberverse Scout Class figure of Bumblebee.

 

You guys are just mean! His irritation is understandable.

I wasn't trying to be mean, I was trying to give him information. The way he worded it made it seem as if he didn't know about these previous cases. And I also wanted to reassure him that he doesn't need to care about this line, it isn't his childhood toys being ruined.

 

By that argument, the original post wasn't really contributing anything either... If someone wants a Wheeljack with a G1-style head, ER Wheeljack came out like 3 months ago and is readily available. Not every toy of a given character should be exactly the same and cater to the exact same demographic.

 

If it’s about the beard animated Wheeljack had a beard and you don’t see Anybody complaining.
