Meh, the basic shape is good for the cat mode, but its overly complicated for the sake of it. Plus, this is the movies, how are they going to shoe in all of that much needed human leading cast to over shadow the bots? No way they'll actually set this in the past.

This does not look like its within the same aesthetic direction the reboot is going for tbh.

I like it. He has that Bayverse aesthetic.

I actually love the cheetah mode. Simplify it and make it yellow. Robot mode tho? Absolute dumpster fire, erase that from my memory. Not only is it incomprehensible but it's insulting to the character. With bayverse I could still make out the alien like face, that looks like a weird melted terminator skull with no discernable mouth.

From my understanding they picked the film set in the Bee-verse over the BW film. could be wrong tho

He says these are from "ages wgo", which implies that they might have been for The Last Knight, back when TF5 was going to have Beast Wars.

I think the cheetah mode is quite ugly. It's like they did a weird blend of Earth cheetah and alien cheetah. They probably should have committed to one or the other, the face looks too cutesy and normal while the body looks too partsy and alien. All the jagged spikes kind of make this look more TFP to me than movieverse. It actually reminds me a lot of a TFP fan design. I also don't like the choice of colors. Ironically, I've always thought the original Beast Wars designs had weird colors, but at least that was usually done to preserve the animals' real-life colors, and add some bolder colors in too. This mix of grey/gold/green/blue/white isn't working for me. I think the Primus art from a few years back did a better job capturing a live-action Beast Wars look.

I actually do kind of like the face, honestly. Not necessarily as Cheetor, but I'm always up for non-humanoid robot designs. This would make a cool face for a run-of-the-mill Decepticon design in the Bayverse. But probably not as a popular hero character.

It's important to keep in mind that this was probably a very early "proof-of-concept" piece designed to help visualize the film in the writer's room, and there's almost no chance this would have actually made it on screen without a lot of fine-tuning. The mere fact that this is being released to the public probably means they've abandoned this approach.

I've let my artistic talents wane over the years, but even i'd be embarrassed to show these off as work i'm responsible for. How can anyone be ok with the cheetah mode? He's supposed to look just like a cheetah ffs.

Considering how the clown virus has crippled Hollywood and many other industries and businesses, I wouldn't get too excited for any kind of major blockbusters returning in the near future. The paradigm has changed. Films like Transformers being big costly productions are going to be streamlined, and hopefully streamlined into cohesive stories where the spectacle have meaning to the story.

But this is obviously from TF5 discarded works.

No offence and it's not bad work but not what I want.

If this is indeed actual Beast Wars concept art, then, at least at this phase, the entire concept of a "Beast Wars Film" has eluded the creative team developing it.
Here's hoping robots disguised passably as actual living flesh & blood animals got re-centred in the mean time! YIKES!
