The cheetah mode i\'m fine with but that robot head is fugly.
I'd say for the Designs, we look at how in Beast Wars, we have the protoforms, like with Airrazor. Before her design solidified, it was not unlike liquid, and even in the Live Action Continuity, the way they handle trans-scanning implies the living metal is less like our more rigid metallic alloys as we think, and they're more fluid. That fluidity could be why the metal on the faces is more like a humanoid face and can contort, meaning that while most of the body is solid, they maintain a level of fluidity to the face to allow for those stretching lips and metallic skin, with some designs being more rigid than others, like those who have purely faceplate faces.
It's just that that mentality doesn't seem to apply when it could. They just really wanted to flex the technobabble.
Umm its not bad. A little weird looking though.
Nah. If it was that, it'd have six legs, tentacles, big body holes, a bug face, four creepy eyes and cat ears. And it'd probably spray everywhere.
Nm, I didn't see the botmode. Gads that's ugly. Not bay ugly, but still ugly.
The cheetah mod is passable, though I would prefer the organic skin to fit with the orginal reason behind the alt mode (shield them from the energon exposure). At least a chameleon feature to change it and make it LOOK like organic skin/fur?
Bot mode.....utter disappointment.
It’s so horrible
more like updated classics beast wars u fools. Leave that messy bay shit behind.
They did. This concept predated TLK's release, this has been established and even the website mentions it being made "ages ago"
Ya, still plenty of time to learn from the 2007 designs.
The 2007 designs made fucking bank. They learned people liked it. The movies themselves were the biggest issue, hence why TLK, which mostly kept the same designs, was the one that broke that streak
Beast mode is alright but what tf is that original form it look ugly plz delete it im glad it\'s a early concept
The thing about Beast Wars for me, is that the point is turning into realistic animals. And there's no way they're gonna use organic designs for a live action movie, so it's just gonna be the Dinobots from AoE all over again.
So as much as I love the idea of a Beast Wars movie on paper, I just can't see them making it work without losing all the appeal for me.
You don't know what they're planning.
Robotic beasts is missing the point
Bay won't be directing
Ok then. So the artist is a nitwit. Did he just want some attention. I don't mind the alien cheetah mode, but the head and the colors have to go.
Chances are the NDA or whatever expired or he just stumbled upon the art in an old folder and decided to share it now that the movie had been canned. It's to build up his portfolio and show off his work to future contractors most likely. If he wanted to show the design off, I doubt he'd include the wire frames of it
yah..science an technology is the logic way. #VenusProject
very cool-- if change E4 for JP looks like a cool jurassic park truck too with this skin
I don’t believe their designs had an absolute bearing on the success of the 2007 movie. The 2007 movie was a success mainly because it was the first live action Transformers movie.
If you want to argue about the designs being “good” you’re going to have a legion of fans against you. Very few people like them.
Also, TLK designs were totally different and streamlined from the 2007 movie and looked pretty good. It was the story that ruined all of these movies.
Anyway, this Cheetor design is horrible and does nothing to honour the original. It’s just a lazily drawn techy looking cheeta. And that bot mode just sucks. That head design is an eyesore. It gives me the feeling that the artist didn’t really give a fuck and just did “whatever”. Thumbs down from me.
The toys sold, even well before the movie came out. Then ROTF toys sold even more, and those toys were a lot more accurate. Said movies sold a lot and those designs were in the movies, that's really all I was saying with that first post.
