honestly looks really bad. if this is the 2022 movie i hope they drastically change it. concepts pretty good but wrong color & shape. now i know why the bayverse designs were so hated by g1 fans

 

I wouldn't be surprised if this was for the originally-planned Bayverse Beast Wars (he says this is from ages ago).

Either way, lol at how godawful that face design is.

I guess now I know how people felt about the movie designs being such vast departures from the original G1 characters back in the day. The cheetah mode looks decent, but that robot head is utterly hideous. And I'm not a fan of the robot cheetah, one of the best parts of Beast Wars to me was that the characters (early on, at least) resembled actual animals rather than a robotic facsimile.

 

I wonder if beast wars fans will still want a beast wars movie after seeing this and that "primal" from a few years ago

Sweet Cheetah mode. As for the bot mode face, well, BW fans can now share the pain G1 fans felt during the Bay films...

 

If it's Bayst Wars they can kiss off. The beast mode is perfectly fine - for a Transmetal Cheetor. I can accept that as concept art leading to that form. But never as Season 1. They need to commit to the animal conceit or stop trying at all.

But hey, early concepts are early concepts. I'd be surprised if didn't get something better.

 

Cat mode looks pretty good, but that face could definitely look more like a face. Still hoping if we do get a live action Beast Wars film it will be something like the old Sinbad or Conan film but with giant robots.

 

Garbage, but if he's showing these, it pretty much confirms that they are NOT being used.

Keep in mind this is from a long time ago, so the design is expected to change. But, I think they should change the face to look more like the cartoon and make the beast mode look more organic.

 

With these being early renders, im not worried, Cheetah mode is beautiful, Bot mode could use some work but i guess that\'s the idea right? it\'s an early render so of course it does.

 

The designs are neat and I would absolutely buy a toy, but from a story-telling standpoint it'd defeat the purpose of the Beast Wars if they were robotic like that. The organic modes were to protect from Energon radiation, and if you set it on modern Earth they wouldn't even be in disguise.

It would, however, be a neat concept for a Beast Machines type story set back on Cybertron or somewhere else.

I'm fine with them not looking like the cartoon versions, but that face doesn't look like a face. They're robots, but the whole point of faces is so they can emote like humans so we can connect with them as characters.
