Do you mean the publisher and not the developer, Outright Games? Sure, there is nothing that has ever been received as more than mediocre on their record.

But looking at the developers, Coatsink, there are some gems there and a much better track record. Granted, a lot of their developed stuff I have no experience with since they are VR games, but I have heard great things about Kingdom Two Crowns. They are one of two developers of Gang Beasts, which is great. And Shu was good, if not particularly notable.

 

To me a far more telling sign than even that is that we still basically have no idea what this game is beyond a Cyberverse (in all but name) game. RTS? Tower defense? Top-down shooter? XCOM-like turn-based strategy? No gameplay given, no bulletpoints about the game features, nothing. They're using the "Transformers" name to sell it so far and that's IT.

 

More and more I find this to be the crux of the issue in many fandom circles, but it's especially a problem here.

You aren't allowed to be critical, skeptical or even just negative about a product without a ton of people getting on your case for not just being a happy little consoomer. People who think we should raise our standards or point out that a certain product isn't actually very good or well constructed are called haters, trolls, elitists and etc.

Now I'm seeing people get defensive over this game that looks like actual shovelware. And yes smart ones, I said 'looks' like, I and basically everyone in this thread are already well aware it's not out yet and am simply judging it for now it looks... and it looks like a disposable mobile game.

 

The equivalent of being personally offended about a 1 step toy. Yes it's bad....but it's so unimportant why would one care this much? This isn't the one deciding factor on the future of the brand, or even the games' future. That ship sailed long ago when mobile games became more lucrative. Blaming some neutral skeptics on the current mediocrity is hilarious, as if Hasbro would listen to those fans.

Also skeptics are wrong, this will be a bad game.

 

People are mad that it’s the first console Transformers game since like, 2013, and we’re getting this shit instead of WfC3 or Devastation 2 or just something quality period.

 

If this game didn't exist, the replacement would just be nothing. It's not, "these resources could've been put into a good game", rather it's "this low cost thing...........exists". It's not like this replaced something with potential. Now if the Certain Affinity game turns out to be some big budget project that's bad, that's when I would understand being very angry.

 

I'm getting Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle vibes here. I'm definitely more interested in the game now...

Stright up looks like a mobile game. How is this worth $30+ on CONSOLES? it looks like something you'd get for free in the app store.

Nice. This is more or less what I was hoping for when they said it was a tactics game.

I’m down for this. Mario Rabbids was great.

Obviously, if you don’t care for tactical strategy games this is not for you. Regardless, it looks good.

 

Honestly, I think it looks fine. Nothing special, like a generic Xcom clone, but I\'ll give it a whirl. But man, I like the guy but Cam did go full shill mode. Way more excited for G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout.
