Buying this will tell Hasbro that we'd buy anything with the Transformers logo on it regardless of quality. Look at it this way, WfC was so popular that it got a sequel which in turn was so anticipated that Game Informer made it the cover of their magazine and wrote articles for a whole month. Hasbro knows that we the majority want, but they'd rather make cheap games for maximum profit from a potential consumer base.

What's worse is that this would sell better on mobile. Children won't play this instead of Fortnite or Call of Duty. Even worse it's tactical, because I doubt the generation of kids who want instant gratification will be drawn to this. It's like asking a child if they'd rather play CoD or XCOM which both involve shooting for the kill.

Hasbro will make games with cheap gimmicks that are popular in games for an rather than give hundreds of thousands of money to make a quality game. Why? Because it's easier to make a $400 Optimus figure for adults and sell thousands of that instead.

Did you read my posts or is this just a knee-jerk reaction? Don't be so defensive. I never said there was anything wrong with still enjoying Transformers, nor did I ever set myself apart as being somehow better than anyone else here.

And yeah, Prime was a show for kids. Characters dying doesn't make something adult. Kids cartoons in Japan have had characters dying in much larger numbers and in more horrific ways for decades. And we've had kids' cartoons aired in the US with character deaths since the 1960s. That doesn't mean the shows weren't made for kids.

And I never said there wasn't product aimed at older fans. But it's all aimed at people who were fans as younger people and never stopped liking it. The comics fall into that category, for example. And the MP line. No Transformers media has ever been aimed at bringing in new adults who were not previously fans. Except arguably the live action movies, I guess, but that's debatable.

Honestly, I didn't think there would be so much pushback on the idea that Transformers was conceived with kids in mind. I thought it was pretty self evident.

I've wanted a Transformers TRPG ever since I discovered the genre, so... Cautiously optimistic?

If it even is a tactical rpg, which hasn't even been plainly spelled out. :peoples:  Way to hype your game, guys.

Wake me when & if we ever get a real game like WFC or Devastation.

I just watched the trailer for Horizon 2 Forbidden West & was blown away. Then I watched this crap. Is this some kind of a joke?

whatever happened to quality games like Transformers PS2 (Armada), the Cybertron games, TF:Universe or devastation.

id love to see what Respawn could do with a TF game, given the success and quality of Fallen Order

couldn't agree more, just put me in stasis until they tease a game that looks like it was at least made on a graphics engine that looks like its from this century

i miss WFC and i have fond memories playing Universe with friends before it was shut down. currently playing devastation and i have to say it is an absolute delight of a game, and pretty too.

Except Transformers isn't as massive as Star Wars so the risks are not as big to them with Disney and fans breathing down their necks so chances of just putting in their B-game are high. Even if the game is good, but doesn't pull in the numbers future iterations are going to get gutted and probably taken out back and shot by Hasbro for thinking this was a safe move to invest in the AAA market now. It's too much of a gamble to give EA the benefit of the doubt to make a game as good as War for Cybertron. I'll give Battlegrounds this; it looks largely inexpensive so the chances of this game failing doesn't tank other projects Hasbro may have in store so it's not like this game is a massive money sink.

I know the risks of giving EA leeway, I mean hell, I played BF5 with actual hope. Just wish they’d give the TF brand do an actual studio...

This is super underwhelming. I was expecting something like Devastation or WFC/FOC. I could see that this game is aimed towards a younger audience since it\'s using the Cyberverse designs. I just hope that this isn\'t the last game we\'ll see in a couple of years.

It's kinda amusing that it's basically the isometric, overview angle is what makes it sorta look like a mobile game. I'm also surprised they didn't used some sort of cel-shading to make it look like the cyberverse but instead opted with these textures that make them look more "detailed".
