I recently got this Nemesis Prime from Ebay, knowing that it has an error. He has the wrong mini-con. I was wondering if this is a common error for the line and if it would just be better worth wise if I just opened him and got the right mini-con.

Looks like your basic toy swap.

The way they made the Armada series the board is pretty much bound to the plastic and the plastic piece holding it in is twirled like a manufacturer would as well. I have a picture of it but it isn't very clear.

That has got to be a swap. There's no way a packaging error like that could happen, is there? At least, I've never heard of it happening.

I've never heard of that kind of error before either. Looks like a toy swap.

Here is the other picture if it helps.

I might take some better ones later but from what I can tell there is almost no way this is a swap.

No, that looks like a toy swap. That's Downshift in place of Run-Over, and Downshift was ONLY available with the other Skyboom shield team members; Dirt Boss and Mirage. They were gang molded, so they had to be produced at the same time. Same goes for Run-Over and Nemesis Prime, they were gang-molded together.

More shots of the bubble where it attatches to the card will help.

If the package is closed, don't open it, it could be a legit error and maybe one day worth something; but if it is open it was a toy swap.

Hmmm. While it may not hold up in court I'm 99.9% positive that is an expertly executed toy swap. Run-Over on his own without Nemesis Prime is going to be a very tough find.

The last one is the only opening, incredibly small, and there are two pieces of plastic holding the figures together making the actual opening for the figure maybe a 10 of an inch and that moves very slightly if I push it with my finger but the plastic still doesnt give way at all and is completely stuck to the board. I can also get better pictures this is just my cell phone.

wow, yeah, the way i remember the Armada cards it'd be pretty hard to swap a minicon like that without it being pretty obvious...

I have a Cybertron Rodimus who has a (red) Prowl tag inside. It has been confirmed not tampered with (and I can verify since I got it right out of the box as they were shelfing them).

Without better shots it is hard to tell.

Actually that one picture the seal isn't straight (unless that is the camera) that..doesn't seem right? Dunno, anyone else see it?

The board isn't in the best condition so it is kind of bent. There are also some clipped pieces of plastic on the seal but I also have a Hot Shot that has almost the same exact looking seal. I will get on better shots soon.

If that's a toy swap it looks like a really, really good swap.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but a general question to everyone...except to people who might specifically look for toys with packaging errors, does anything with a legit packaging mistake hold any value down the road? Is this thought of packaging errors equalling monetary value down the road all thanks to that Frank Thomas rookie card from two decades ago that was briefly released with no name on it before it was corrected? I'm not sure where this comes from, and just wonder if there was an example I'm unaware of from another toy line that sparked this?

very strange either its the finest job of toy swapping ever seen or its the most unlikely factory error ever.

as for packaging errors unless its G1 its doesn't likely have much additional value and often might be seen as worth less to most collectors as only a very few collect these errors.

error packaged toys arent worth anything. id consider them worth less than the original. this isnt a G1, its a modern toy produced after the collector market crash. good luck tracking down your minicon!

Ok, this is probably the best I can do, as far as showing off the packaging, if anyone has anyone wants me to go back and film something I may have missed I will get around to it.
