I’d love to see Armada designs and characters start to be included in the Masterpiece line up similar to how Beast Wars has been doing to great success.

Maybe for the 20th anniversary, but I would rather they not start with Optimus or Megatron. A Blurr or Hot Shot would be awesome if they were similar scale to the MP cars.

I was only 4 when it came out in 2002 so I grew up on this specifically and it holds a very special place in my heart.

I’m hoping Takara give me the chance to experience what G1 fans experienced with MP-44 in the next few years with an MP Prime

 

I've always felt Armada the series, while starting out not good, managed to grow and evolve into something quite good. An MP? I'd go with Optimus Prime, although I wanna see more of that prototype we've had teased a while ago!

 

That long, huh? Armada was my first series so the fact it's nearly 20 years since is astounding.

As for the MP question, we know a prototype exists of MP Armada Prime and he has a super mode torso configuration as the gold fists were seen in his normal form's ankles. A possible super pants Optimus would be insanely sublime.

 

I was 6 back then, it was the first transformers series I really got into. I'd only watched a little bit of RiD, but I fell in love with Armada. It's great how many updates Armada designs have received in Classics style toylines, I'd love to see that extended to Masterpiece too!

 

I think to jump straight into a subline with a new Prime would do more harm than good because I feel that this Optimus NEEDS the trailer to get the full experience.

It might put people off if Takara asked for the same as MP-44 or above $200. I would buy it instantly however but I know not everyone is the same.

I think the smaller characters are the way to go and build up reputation. Then they could ask big bucks for the heavy hitters.

I would basically want all the gimmicks just with modern engineering. No spring action or sounds/lights. Starscreams wing sword and Hot Shots wheel launcher come to mind as well as Blurr and his VTOL mode.

The trailer base for Prime would be interactive with all the minicons, just not activate spring gimmicks or lights and sounds. I would want Primes truck cab to be a three seater so he could have Carlos, Brad and Alexis sit inside similar to Spike, Carly and Sparkplug with MP-44. I believe it would be very easy as it sits on his back and doesn’t come apart for transformation like other versions.

 

MP Armada should be a subline like MPM, since that would keep prices low and we would still get good figures. Unlike MPM though they wouldn't have the complications for the robot designs being insanely difficult to replicate accurately in toy form.

 

The beauty of the UT trilogy is also that the toys came first and they designed the character models for the show directly around them, and they aren’t stupidly complex to work out like the movies or G1 animation despite being being made the same way.

I believe we could look to some really cool toys in the future.

I think that any this line should have an A on the end of the number, then Energon and Cybertron can continue on when they get their turn.

An example could be

MPA01 - Optimus
MPA02 - Megatron

The Japanese release could maybe have a different way of doing it like how the numbers for Studio Series and Siege are different for the west and Asia.

 

Armada can legally drive, drink (in some places) and vote.

Masterpiece Mini-Cons would be awesome. Simple, small figures but with no expenses spared on articulation, paint, show accuracy, etc.

 

They could either go with a release with the trailer or do what MP-01 did and have a premium release that includes it or sell it separate

 

They could also do
MPA01F- Final Battle/Powerlinx Optimus (With Corona Sparkplug)
MPA01EX1- "Energon Edition" Armada Optimus (Based on the Costco Multipack colors)
MPA01EX2- Armada Ultra Magnus (Based on the Universe Optimus Redeco. With a redeco of Sparkplug as Rod/Droptest or just come with a newly molded Over-Run.)

Meanwhile with the Branded Repaints, i sorta wonder what they might plan. Besides them being based on some sports brands?

 

I want a new Generations Armada Starscream. MP would probably mean $200+ and a bunch of breakage.

Dang I still love Armada, the bots and Minicons are fun.

 

Armada brought me back to transformers toys. I always loved the *masters and transformers with little partners so it was a huge deal for me. Too bad some of the toys were iffy thanks to the gimmicks, but still a fun line.

I would want Optimus with the trailer and Sparkplug AND Overrun. Forget the kids.
