Box Office Mojo has updated their site with their Friday estimates and it says Transformers AOE brought in $41.6M on Friday.

This means, unless is has a huge drop off for Sat and Sun, that AOE will easily make over $100M this weekend.

I was looking at that number earlier today, and the total is still just an estimate, isn't it?

I really want the movie to get a good WOM (word of mouth). I'm not worried about it having a good pair of legs . . . Ms. Peltz ensured that it would:

As for the critics -- this one is for you:

And this is why there will be a TF 5 (and 6). Congrats AOE, you deserve it!

Nice! Glad to know I will be contributing to the total opening weekend earnings in an hour or so!

Yeah, but the estimates are normally only off by a few thousand dollars.

In my experience their estimates are usually spot on I believe they use actual box office data so it's not just like a hunch or something

I think it might come close to $100 million, but may not quite make it.

Though there has been a trend of enormous drops in second weekend box office, though this is 4th of July weekend coming up, so it might not be one of those 60% declines next weekend.

I did twice so far :)  (contribute that is -- once just by myself, on Thursday night, and the second time last night with my wife, and my buddy -- both times in IMAX 3D at $17 bucks a pop). If I see just a regular 3D version, I wanna try the Dolby Athmos sound equipped theatre.

Is the regular 3D version any shorter than the IMAX? I can't imagine there is much that could be cut from the movie . . . perhaps only slightly trimmed.

I'm gonna attempt to stem that tide myself. I only got to watch it on thursday because I bought my ticket a while back I wanted to see it again yesterday and tomorrow, but I'm broke. However this thursday is payday again so I plan on seeing it as much as possible next weekend :thumbs2:

There is no real competition until 7/11 when Planet of the Apes comes out.

Next week is Tammy (lady holding up a Burger King type place) and Earth to Echo (looks like an ET rip-off staring kids). Neither seem like real competition to AOE so it should still do well next week. Like any movie that opens huge, there will be a drop.

Oh OK, I don't know how they get their numbers, so thank you for explaining it to me :)  -- excited for the success of the movie, I always feel a part of it :D

I'm going to see the movie again tomorrow, so that will be worth the ten dollar drop, huh? XD It really deserves this money after all their hard work. I wanna keep an eye out for some extra goodies.
