Dude, Animated is one of the best shows we have ever gotten, I'm guessing you saw a few episodes from season 1 then stopped. Animated isn't more 'kiddy' than G1 or any other TF show.

Way to show your stupidity. You say this cartoon gives Transformers a childish image.

GUESS WHAT! TRANSFORMERS IS FOR KIDS!!

Yeah, but kids like things that look cool, not cute or childish. I mean,a 10 year old kid would like Jurassic Park more than Barney the dinosaur,so it stands to reason he'd like the live action movie,or even A/E/C more than blobby, cuddly looking chunky robots with silly faces who in at least one case sound like Sponge Bob.

Oh man I thought shows on Cartoon Network were for kids, thanks for showing me that they're for 30 year old men like you

Their chins are epic, if you're worried about the way it looks.

If you're worried about the plot... you haven't watched it much, have you?

you are never too old to enjoy what you love, but if you are a real transformers fan, you should try to have an open mind to every series (and if it kills itself through it's own devices, well that's not our fault) but animated is aimed at children... to which i have to ask, why place it at 6 am? how many of the target audience (or ANYONE) is awake at 6 (bleep) am? man....

and...oh yeah, welcome to the boards.

I'm not surprised. After all, how can a show with a series long thematic storyarc, complex characters with depth and psychological issues, ruthless and dangerous villains, subtle political satire, and actual main character deaths compare to a show that had a giant purple griffin, random first appearances with contradictory origins on one of the two characters they bothered to give a backstory to, random appearances and disapearances of it's character roster, Kremzeek, and the laughably inhuman Chip Chase?

I was in the prime age group in the 80's, and loved the series. When I re-watched G1 in college, I was embarassed to have been a fan of the show. Now I can enjoy it for it's camp value and a few good lines, but as a standalone show, it's terrible to anyone who isn't a hardcore fan or is a small child. Animated, on the other hand, has won over a number of adults, heck, I even got a few non-transformer fans hooked on the show.

The blobby style still gave us two of the coolest transformers designs in a looong time.

You know...I'd expect someone who was there for the original G1 incarnation to at least be able to spell 'eighties' correctly and have some knowledge of punctuation and capitalization too.

and anyway Animated had way more adult oriented themes than G1 ever had.
