The Animated script reading at TFNation - covering the first three episodes of what would have been season 4 - "The Trial of Megatron"

We've compiled some bullet points on the frontpage about what could have been. A lot of this was known from the Allspark Almanac - but some details have only just been revealed.

This was gonna be one of the best Transformers seasons ever.

Unless it was a rumor, I’m surprised this doesn’t mention that Blackarachnia forms her own army of Predacons. It seems season four was going to be absolutely badass. It’s such a shame that they cancelled it.

 

Sounds like this was only the mention of the season opening, the trial of Megatron. There were notes from Wyatt as an overview of the whole season which included Black Arachnia's Predacons and a visit to the mirror universe in the finial Almanac.

Damn you, Cartoon Network!

 

Shit I saw the title and thought animated season 4 was actually gonna happen. Fuck. This sounds so great though. It’d be cool to see this event if it was recorded.

 

Sometimes I wish Animated was still on. But only for the toy line to continue.

 

It was not. No recordings allowed. And I intentionally kept this high level out of respect to Marty and the crew.

In all seriousness, some of this was definitely changed from the initial pitch to match either Marty's or the fandom's whims. There's absolutely no way Cartoon Network would have let a Transformer commit suicide like that.

 

This sounded phenomenal! Though I was very satisfied with how Animated ended, I would still very much love to see this be fully animated someday.

 

The original voice cast was there? As in David Kaye and Tara Strong?
No mention of Blackarachnia or her Predacon army, so I don’t feel like I missed out on much... love hearing Strika returned and the introduction of Obsidian. I wonder if Marty was planning on setting them up by killing off Lugnut.
Overall, sounds like a badass time... hopeful the script will see the light of day in some fashion, like how Simon Furman published Shell Game on his blog

 

Hearing about this stuff makes me wish even more that Season 4 was made.

If only Cartoon Network didn't have a habit of screwing over good shows...

 

Makes me sad it never happened.

Transformers Animated is the best TF cartoon. Fight me.

 

This fourth season would’ve been glorious... in an alternate universe this would’ve actually existed.

 

Voice cast - they recorded clips which were edited together.

It won't get released. It's technically property of Hasbro. Hence why no recordings.

I want a new timeline.
