This quarantine life got me to pick up some of my backlog of videogames and projects- this, obviously, is the first of my projects to be completed during this global madness! Transformers Animated Metalhawk appears in the Complete Allspark Almanac, a member of Cybertron Intelligence and the first member of Project Aerialbot- an attempt to replicate the anomaly that created Jetfire and Jetstorm. Metalhawk (Animated) - Transformers Wiki This Metalhawk uses a junk Jetfire as a base. The fins and the arms and legs were just cut and shaped less like ice crystals and more jet-like and streamlined. I used acrylics for the blue, red and white, but I had a hard time getting the yellow acrylic to cooperate so I went out and purchased a can of Krylon spray yellow. The head is just Jetstorm's heavily sanded and shaped down with little fins/ears added made from a drinking straw It's a little heavy handed in some places, and the figure is by no means perfect, but I am overall very satisfied with my work and it looks fantastic on my shelf with the rest of my TFA collection:] Keep your eyes peeled, I've got a few other TFA characters coming down the pipeline!
love the idea, but in the future you should thin your paints a bit more and wait between coats if you are gonna hand paint. especially if you arent priming for bright colors
did that for the red white and blue. Red and blue thinned just fine, White was weird, and yellow didn't want to take at all. So I gave up on brushing and ended up using yellow spray paint. Got a little heavy handed with it. I've previous experience painting, but it just wasn't working out this time for whatever reason the way I wanted. On topic, do paints get old and stop functioning the same? I think that's what was going on that the colors weren't cooperating.
Bump, resized some photos that were simply way too large, now made smaller for a more total and pleasurable viewing experience :]
