I noticed some loose and prototype Transformers Animated Figures on Ebay today. A couple are a little pricey but there is a Lockdown figure that looks cool for a good price. Here are the links. Which is called TV exposure, son. Still, they'll probably drop as the toyline's official release draws closer.
I was gonna try a buy some but the cheapest Ive seen one was a MOSC Animated Bumblebee for about 30 bucks..
Well if you waited for the Summer, you probably could have gotten one from the store for $9.99. *waits for retail*
I believe it was former-member megatroptimus that put it this way (he's the guy that buys everything in advance, and I think you can still find him on Cybertron.ca) "While I spend $100 and get my toy now, and I am satisfied with that toy. You will spend more than that waiting for it to be released because of looking for the toy (go into Walmart, Target, etc., don't see what you want, so you buy another), other misc. buys, etc. between now and then." At least it was something to that extent, and more snappy instead of my diluted verion... But it gets the point across. I think I'm just gonna preorder all of them online somewhere (anyone know where I can buy what I want- as in not cases- other than BBTS?). No sense wasting time/gas looking when there probably won't be anything to buy.
Well I'm not American, I'm English so I, a) won't see the toys on shelves anywhere near that soon b) Would have paid twice that much in a UK shop regardless c) Got a good deal because of the weak dollar And for the person who asked why people spend so much, it's all about percieved value, $100 is nothing to someone who earns $1000 a day but having something you really want is worth a lot.
It would depend on your spending habits but you do have a point. I personally know I won't get any unless I see them in the store on another trip and only certain figures. The only exception to this rule for me is the new Classics which I will buy all of but probably preorder from BBTS or somewhere just so I don't waste gas looking around for them.
That's my view as well. I paid 70 incl ship each for Bumblebee and Bulkhead. I know they will be 9.99 dollar in the future. But hey, I could be long gone then and 70 dollar is a snap for me.
