So I regularly see Animated getting both a lot of hate and a lot of love from Transformers fans so since Animated is in my top 3 favorite Transformer shows, I decided to post this thread in honor of Animated, so here is what I love about Animated:

    -The nice character designs:
The designs of the characters were very similar to the G1 cartoon which was a neat touch in my opinion. Yeah, people love to complain about it but I like it.

    -Optimus Prime:
This version of Optimus is Optimus, but he's not Optimus at the same time. Here we see a washout Elite Guard Optimus that was put in charge of a lowly repair team. He's not head dog and Animated had a lot of guts to make this version of Optimus.

    -The main team of Autobots:
The main team consists of clumsy but tough Bulkhead, energetic Bumblebee, grumpy medic Ratchet, a younger version of Optimus Prime and a ninja-bot named Prowl. They weren't heavily trained elite guard soldiers, no, they were (Besides Prowl who was trained by Yoketron) Elite Guard rejects who were put on a lowly repair team yet they grew into something bigger.

    -The Humans:
In my opinion, the humans like Isaac Sumdac and Sari were tolerable. At least they weren't useless or got in the way of the Autobots.

    -The Humor:
Ok, there are a lot of parts in Animated that were just plain priceless. Like Optimus laughing at Sentinel Prime or Bumblebee roasting Blitzwing. The humor didn't seem forced at all.

So that's what I appreciate and love about TFA, let me know what you love about it!
    (Happy Thanksgiving BTW!)

He's basically Optimus Primal with a vehicle mode.

But yeah, one of the greatest TF shows.

I find the Animated version of Optimus reminds me of Rodimus Prime in G1 if he wasn't stuck in a continuous character development loop.

It's kind of funny because the short appearance of Animated Rodimus Prime came off serious like G1 Optimus during the Movie and Season 3.

I love the series. I was nearly done with the Transformers series until I saw it. Just reminded me so much of Beast Wars.

To this date that's my ideal Optimus Prime.

Agreed. While a lot of characters had the same names many were different than previous incarnations.

I also liked how the cons were much bigger and dangerous than the autobots. They were war machines while the autobots were repair/maintenance/rescue.

Also introduced a lot of interesting new characters: Bulkhead, Lugnut, Lockdown

Still the best Optimus Prime to date. Primal is a bit better but he's not technically a Prime.

Loved Bulkhead, Prowl, Ratchet, Megatron, Lugnut, Shockwave, Blitzwing, Lockdown, Swindle, Slipstream, Blurr and Jazz too.

Didn't like Bumblebee but i prefer this over him being mute.

Yeah, Bumblebee wasn't my favorite character in Animated, but at least in Animated, he WAS a character.

Actually, here's a list of all the characters whose Animated incarnations I didn't like:

    here endeth the list.

    Comparisons:
Both series had the good side being a non military crew thrown into a renew conflict years after the Great War ended.
Both Optimus characters had an yellow bot call them "Big Bot".
Both series featured sparks and stasis pods.
Both series featured strong character developments.
Both series features questionable actions by ruling body on Cybertron. Beast Wars with Protoform X and Animated with creating a sentient being for the purpose of being an weapon of mass destruction.
Both series featured Waspinator and Blackarachnia.
Both series featured a bad side member of near insane devotion to their leader that annoyed the series Megatron.
Both Megatron characters were schemers and charismatic.

Having seen both, Animated is basically the G1 concept merged with the Beast Wars story formula.

Which is pretty much why I personally find Animated to be the best Transformers show. It's an homage to everything before it but it's a show that gets Transformers. IDW, the movies and the Aligned continuity has this grey, serious, boring tone, while Animated, just like Beast Wars, is cartoony, slapstick-y and it understands how silly the concept of alien robots turning into cars is, they poke fun of it while still having characters we care about in a good story we can take seriously.

We need a show like this again. I understand people are enjoying Rescue Bots, but it's not Animated. Not even close.

Also, the theme song kicks ass.

Really? Even Rescue Bots or the new RiD is serious? They seem pretty kid-like to me.

Everyone can agree. The theme song is badass.

I think you don't want to like Beast Wars, so you're in denial about the similarities which are obvious to everyone else.

I don´t know about RB as for RiD, well maybe the tone isn´t serious but grey and boring. I´m not sure how but it seems abit colorless and for a show that is basicly a superhero-story with robots the villians seem abit to normal at times.

RiD isn't serious nor grey, in fact it's pretty colorful, but it's just a weird tone shift from Prime.

I didn't know RB was in the Aligned continuity.

Understandable. The Aligned contuity is a huge mess.

WAS a huge mess. Aligned no longer exists. And since series previously labeled "Aligned" are still running, my feeling is that the Hasbro abandoning of Aligned means the connections retroactively disappear. for example, while TFP and RID'15 are still connected, neither of them now connect to WFC/FoC. We can get rid of connections like that, which weren't originally intended anyway, and never made sense.

When was that announcement made? As I've seen recently Hasbro social media at least has still treated them as in continuity with eachother

A while ago now. Aligned was an experiment that failed. Maybe someone with more free time can post the link.

At first the art style took a little bit of getting used to but the characters really grow on you.

Corey Burton as Megatron was something special. I also liked Starscream in this.

The series is also cool for letting us know that people like Judd Nelson still kind of have it for their characters back in the day.
