Ryall's already said TAAO isn't getting renumbered.

 

I sincerely hope it'll work this way.

While crossovers can be fun, when you overuse them you loose the sense of individual books. And when you need to keep track of multiple books (including ones you're not interested in) to follow a single plot-line the reading stops being fun and becomes a chore.

If they're gonna go with something along the line of DC TV series, where heroes have their individual adventures, but team up from time to time it may be fun  

 

Well, who saw THIS coming?

 

This may not have been Hasbro's fault alone. I'm sure many of the writers want a shared universe ala DC and Marvel. You know, that way they can screw up continuity so much across the various books that they have to have a Crisis-style event to reboot everything.

Also, comic companies love the renumbering gimmick. Issues #1 tend to get a big boost in sales. And it being a 'jumping on' point, they are hoping for the theoretical people that have been waiting to start reading from a point and not be confused about what's going on. More readers = more $$$$.

 

After reading the clarifications from Barber and Ryall I feel a bit more optimistic about the whole thing, and it was cool of them to address the concerns as best as they could.

Looking forward to how this all plays out.

 

I hate reboots. I know they are a jumping on point for new people, but they alienate me. If I invest time and money into years of a storyline and it just gets dropped with no reasonable conclusion, then I no longer want to read it. Even if they keep the history, current storylines usually get shoved aside for new ones. The X-Men family of comics is terrible with this. I still read them, but I no longer pay for them.
Renumbering is also stupid. They might has well just stop putting numbers on them if it isn't important. Maybe just put the month and year or something if they don't care about continuity.

 

Ryall has clarified it ISNT A REBOOT though. The Tranformers comics continuity are not going to be rebooted. And Renumbering is to get new readers on board.

How many times does this need to be stated before all you people stop complaining about a 'reboot'? As someone previously said this is more similar to Marvel Now.

Have trouble keeping creative teams together on a not on schedule already monthly book(s).

Add stupid forced crossover shit no one cares about and has zero lasting ramifications 6 mths later.

Yeah, brilliant idea that Marvel and DC have beat to death and just wowed its fans with.................

Oh, man, I came up with the perfect cross-over for MLP. The Lost Light is out exploring, when they find the Pony Planet. Megatron is so touched by how friendly everyone is, he decides to leave the quest and stay there.  

IDW, make this happen!

I'll give it a shot when it comes out otherwise it'll be a good jumping off point from reading the IDW comics.

 

I don't see how this is going to affect the actual monthly comics at all. Why would MtMtE drop everything and follow ROM or the micronauts for any extended length of time? It seems like a lot of fuss over nothing.

 

Its a new version, not any previous version. And its a James Bond/Kingsman style British Secret Agent sort of character.

 

And then the DJD attack and Princess Celestia has an epic battle with Tarn!!!   Lolol
