Dark Cybertron was pretty damn good, and I think the only reason Combiner Wars was.. well, not as good, was because of Scott.

DC had Barber and Roberts, CW had Barber and Scott, so... yeah.

Seriously surprised that this event will mean the re-numbering of all series. They can say it's a jumping on point for new readers, but that also means it's a jumping off point. One of the benefitting things of Transformers and MTMTE is they were both terrific ongoing stories that have lasted so long, new and old readers are so invested in them. Setting them back to #1 issues seems damaging in my opinion.

Will support the series, but definitely have mixed emotions on it.

Guys guys guys. Calm down. This isn't nearly as big a deal as some people are making it out to be. Yes, the event itself is going to be a massive fan service crossover, but after that everything will mostly go back to how it already is, jut with cameos and references to the other comics occasionally.

Like, we could see ROM hop aboard the lost light for an issue, or GI JOE and MASK team up to deal with some threat.

Marvel and DC have been doing shared universes for decades now. The formula is pretty well established by now, I doubt IDW is gonna screw it up.

Adding onto this, I'm pretty sure only exRID will be renumbered, because I can't see how MTMTE and TAAO (which will have barely gotten started by September) will be involved or effected by this crossover.

I doubt that this can get much worse than the current Ongoing series which is dictated by Hasbro's toy sales anyway.

Transformers is a big enough franchise to support its own Universe. it does not need these other franchises contaminating it.

little one off or miniseries crossovers are fine, especially since none of them are canon to the main IDW TF-verse.

but trying to force all of this other crap into an already long established continuity is fucking stupid. Rom and Micronauts could work due to the size of the Universe. but I really dont see how GiJoe and Mask are going to work considering the Transformers longstanding connection to earth, and the histroy therof. not unless these are team specifically designed from the Ground up to work with existing Transformers continuity. and if that is the case, it wont make GiJoe fans very happy, as their squared peg just had its corners cut off to fit into Transformers round hole.

MTMTE's tying in according to the press release, and Ryall pretty much confirmed it's being renumbered as well.

Granted, I imagine most Transformers fans aren't exactly comic people and don't pay much if any attention to non-TF comics, so they don't know what exactly this entails and assume the worst.

yeah, it almost seems if you want to do this RIGHT (that is too say, in a way that won't make it feel shoe-horned in) you'd have to pretty much scrap the existing TF IDW-universe and start fresh.

IDW should do love stories between TF's and Joes. That ought to make neo-TF fans more acceptable to this idea.

I know we can trust IDW's judgement on this because they've never screwed up crossovers before, or ruined existing compelling stories with reboot-lite fair. I fondly remember the Avengers and Infestation crossovers which are highlights of the IDW-verse for me.

I'm also especially excited about the inclusion of undeveloped 80s franchises last explored when I was ten years old, given how perfectly these are likely to gel with the more mature themes which have been developed recently in TF. I just know the likes of Miles Mayhem will fit in alongside these themes perfectly.

I also can't believe they are really going to 3 monthly TF books. Just seems like oversaturation.

I don't think this ruins everything, but I can't say I'm excited for it either.

True, I'm still gonna give this "Revolution" thing a chance. I'm just hoping that "Revolution" doesn't mess up much of Transformers, especially MTMTE.

I don't see how it's oversaturation when you have DC's Batman and Marvel's Deadpool in multiple books that all sell pretty well.

11 years investment. one tends to get emotional. especially when the stories we're losing are some of the best written the TF brand has given us. (and usually has good art to go with it)
