News Post: Transformers And Other Hasbro Characters Join Together For IDW's Revolution
Please tell me that MTMTE is NOT renumbering...
Sounds like it will be.
NOPE! Do not want! The Transformers comics are just fine how they are. We don't need any convoluted bullshit as to why suddenly GI Joe, ROM the Space Knight, MASK, and a bunch of other crap I don't recognize are suddenly in the same universe as them. I'm not going back to read their comics no matter what you do. I'm not going to fall for that cheap shit. If anything, I'll just stop reading Transformers if they start forcing stuff from other series in there.
And hopefully MTMTE doesn't renumber.
Yeah, I think this is a good jumping-off point for me with IDW. It's been fun, but this is all a complete turn-off for me.
Eh, I might take a look
and Galvatron uses the Earth uber-Enigma of Combination to combine the TF titles with all the other Hasbro brands!
Srsly though, not gonna get me to buy stuff monthly. I'll get trades if the stories are worth buying. Curious what they plan to do with M.A.S.K. as it was one of my favorite toons back in the day....
G.I. Joe, I assume, is going to have to be a reboot, considering AHM and its one billion human casualties leave the previous IDW Joe continuity utterly irreconcilable with the IDW Transformers universe...
Acknowledge but not integral please.
I'm interested in seeing how this'll be done... one earth? Alternate universes?
That artwork is awesome. I'm in for M.A.S.K.!
My initial thought on skimming the news was that it was going to be like Marvel's Secret Wars. You know, a bunch of alternate universes, brought together to duke it out. But if this is more of a New 52 thing ... bleh.
In fact, why would IDW feel the need to such a reboot? DC does it as way of dealing with all the continuity they built up over decades by shunting it aside, but IDW doesn't even have 20 years, and the current Transformers deal with continuity in a masterful way, though I can't speak to the other series. Why fix something that isn't broke?
Sounds like a prelude to the unified CINEMATIC Hasbro universe. I.e. Hasbro is probably testing the waters here...
Having just seen DC's "Flashpoint Paradox" (Netflix!), I have my fears that this mini-series will end up superior to its movie equivalent! Cause that Superman v. Batman...
While I'm not adverse to the idea, I am having a very hard time seeing how it's going to work with the Transformers comics, especially with what has happened in not-RID recently with the All Hail Optimus Arc and it's lead up.
As for the mask comic - I am very interested in this.
Man, I definitely decided to stop reading these comics just in time. As if MTMTE's quality decline in season two, all the TF ongoings being forced into badly drawn crossovers, and them being forced to advertise toys wasn't bad enough. I can't imagine a crossover with a hundred other Hasbro properties could possibly end well. Well, at least it looks like I'll be jumping off MTMTE while it's going... Better than most the rest of season two, assuming Dying of the Light doesn't have an awful ending.
Renumber the ex-RID series, drag it down with as many random guest stars and crossovers with other franchises as you want, whatever.
Just LEAVE MTMTE ALONE.
Guess IDW doesn't want DC and Marvel to be the only ones with terrible do overs this year.
sounds like it could be fun
Seems like a cool jumping on point for new readers.
None of this really bothers me, personally; maybe because I'm really interested to see how well IDW can actually pull off the challenge of inserting all of this into the TF universe. It could also be because I'm enjoying IDW's current Micronauts book, and if this gets at least one more person to pick it up... that's a success!
Judging by the article and interview, one Earth.
It's not rebooting the continuity, just the numbering; they say nothing about the continuity being restarted, especially when the story starts with ROM and the Dire Wraiths stumbling upon Ore-13.
MTMTE sounds like it's getting renumbered, too. Its August solicit mentioned Revolution as well.
