LOL! true for the AFA as for CHUG its what the word means that makes it unattractive and I will use it as little as possible.

Seriously though couldn't anything better be devised?

Hmmm. I use TFTM for the live action movie since I mostly care about toys and all the 1986 movie toys already fall under G1.

Webster doesn't agree with you. Acronym - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

so i am going to start using "HUCG" for the modern toys?
CHUG is not only appropos, it is in chronological order, right? so the hate for a simple term is ridiculous, imo.

the only problem i have for the abbreviations and jargon comes from reading the boards here for like a month, hopping over to a GI Joe discussion and I get my wires crossed. it takes a moment, but i get my terms worked out and am ok.

as for learning the terms, just look at the context of a post and you can quickly get what an abbreviation means.

Not till the next incarnation of the line, who knows what it will be then, lets hope we get something creative out of it. I like CHUG, cause if someone says "Classics" there is always a clown who has to chime in and say, "classics are over, if you are referring to GENERATIONS...."

I won't lie, it took me a few days to figure out wtf CHUG stood for. At first, I was wondering if TFs were being cross-marketed w beer or something. Needless to say, I was severely disappointed when I found out that I wouldn't be able to buy my own Hoptimus Prime or Kegatron.

Better? probably with a little forethought. But easier to say? doubtful. not to mention it just kinda happened so easily, as most popular acronyms do.

Do you know what snafu stands for?

that word gets bandied around EVERYWHERE, in family newspapers, etc...

it stands for Situation Normal, All Fucked Up. which is exactly what a snafu is...

CHUG is the only way those letters make any sense... yeah i guess GUCH could too... but would you rather call it GUCH? Or HUGC?

or UGCH? maybe if ya didn't like the figs...ugch....
