Hey everyone, One of my favourite things about Transformers as a kid were the cartoons on the backs of the boxes - they were awesome! Do you know if they are or ever were available as posters? Jack
My picture is an original 80s poster; I think there are a variety of posters from back in the day though.
I thought the artwork on the back of the toys was awesome. I wish I had a poster size version of the one from the 84 bots.
There was a thread made about this exact same thing last week: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...211-g1-boxart-poster-there-ever-one-made.html But no concrete answers were posted in it. Looking about online all I can find are posters that feature collages of G1 character boxart that was found on the front of the boxes and cards, but nothing about the actual back of box 'battlescene' artwork. If there really aren't any posters of rear box artwork I would be very surprised, even if they were just scans taken directly from boxes and enlarged and printed out. Botch the Crab has some nice large scans but even they're not big enough to make a worthy poster size out of. Although I suppose you could print them out poster size and they'd look good from a distance. After all, nobody really looks at a poster with their nose pressed right up against the paper. Certainly I myself would be interested in proper posters released of the awesome vintage box back artwork. I've got several old 80s TF posters, mostly ones given away free with the UK Marvel TF comic, but none feature the old box back battlescene art, which was missing a trick really. Someone must own the painted originals though so perhaps one day a deal can be struck to have them properly released as posters.
There was a TFTM (1986 movie) poster. In fact I have one in my room. Though I bet that's not what you're talking about right?
