[Preview] IDW Publishing’s 6/12 Release: TRANSFORMERS #7 – PopCultHQ
No story to read, no reason to care.
I realize this is a necessary component of the narrative the writer is creating.
But I am 10,000% not here for sad Bumblebee.
Cliffjumper: "Wait... someone else died this time around?!"
This art really makes me miss even more artists like Grifftith, Kei Sama or Milne. No disrespect for the new artists, but I don't like the style at all.
Dude was such an obvious red shirt they should've made it part of his color scheme.
And then the Decepticon Triple Changers bust through the wall and they fight!
All things considered, by our standards, he was only a little kid. No older than 10 and then murdered to death after pleading for his life. Something sad about somebody dying so young, even if Rubble wasn’t a very interesting character and was merely a plot device.
Even the previews are boring, geez...
When I know a character is super obviously going to die, I never feel bad for them, because it's plain that was their only purpose. I feel more annoyed at the writer trying to manipulate my feelings that way.
I personally didn’t see it coming but I understand where you’re coming from as I have seen this same thing done numerous times with other media.
I also kinda didn't see it coming and I gotta admit I'm sad. I liked Rubble for what he was, and I thought he was a good way to introduce this much weirder new version of Cybertron.
Frankly I don't get why people are bitching about it being so boring, but I gotta wonder if maybe people just aren't going to be happy with anything poor IDW does
Based on this preview, you'll pay $4 for about 5-6 minutes of entertainment.
Sadly, that's comics in general in 2019.
This series is off to a rough, rough start.
The paper stock is laughable for a $4 comic. Feels like National Inquirer thin, if the NI was glossy. The cover art is horrible - I have done a better job in my sketchbook
The art inside is okay but I don’t feel drawn to it
I’d care way more if it were Rubble dealing with the loss of Bumblebee.
Egad, Rubble's been fridged!
We haven't confirmed that Rubble is dead, though. That won't happen until we get the full preview or issue.
How fast is Windblade flying in the first panel of page 3? You can’t tell at all. Was she just hovering there?
Bumblebee doesn’t even acknowledge her presence. Three pages and nothing happens. Is this supposed to entice us to buy the comic?
Bumblebee in Plight of the Bumblebee from the Marvel comics at least had caption boxes letting the reader know his thoughts and state of mind without him having to speak to someone. Here, sad Bumblebee is sad. That’s it. No depth at all.
