Talking to us about her new movie Rogue Hostage, Luna Lauren Velez reveals that she has a key role in Steven Caple Jr.'s upcoming Transformers movie starring Anthony Ramos. Find out who she plays here...

There are a few Transformers movies currently in the works at Paramount Pictures, but one of the most exciting is heading our way from Joby Harold (Army of the Dead) and Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II).

In The Heights and Hamilton star Anthony Ramos was recently added to the seventh instalment in the long-running franchise as a character Collider has reported will be "a flawed and vulnerable hero who has made mistakes in his life and is eager to redeem himself with the help of Optimus Prime."


Now, we know who's playing his mom!

Talking to us about her new movie Rogue Hostage (which is now available to watch in select theaters and On Demand after being released on June 11), star Luna Lauren Velez (Dexter, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) confirmed that she recently boarded the cast of the seventh Transformers movie.

"I'm doing Transformers 7 which I'm very excited about," Velez told us earlier today. "I play Anthony Ramos' mom in that film, so there's some exciting stuff coming up."


When we put it to her that it must be incredibly exciting to board a big budget franchise like Transformers, she added: "It really is. I have to confess that I haven't seen any of the films, so to come in a project like this at this moment was really great. I'm excited about that. It's going to be fun stuff."

We don't have a release date for Transformers 7 yet, but it's clearly putting together a fantastic cast. Production is expected to take place in Montreal, and Ramos has previously confirmed his involvement. We'll bring our full interview with Luna to you soon, including some intel on what Rio Morales will be getting up to in the highly anticipated Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

 

Oh don't bother. At least prior to Bumblebee, the mother character in Transformers isn't worth modeling after.  

 

Only know her as Miles mom in ITSV but cool for her that she's in the film (glad where starting to hear more for the film as outdoor's shooting comes near)

Kinda surprised we're getting so much movie news all of a sudden. Also no one would blame her for not having watched the previous films.

Nice! More info. Leak season for the movies was always fun to me. I didn’t follow the “Bumblebee” leaks and speculation, but I’m quite excited to start playing “match the car to the character” in the coming months.

 

Same here (joined TFW after TLK and wasn't on it at all really till really late 2019), always the most exciting part till the trailer or first look of the robot modes is released since there going more G1 hopefully it easier to play it.

Super excited to be getting more movie news. I enjoyed the family dynamic in Bumblebee so it'll be nice to see a different type of family in this movie (given Ramos is 29, I expect the rest of his family to be older or around the same age if he has siblings).

 

Oh holy shit awesome! I loved her in Dexter, eager to see how she is in this movie.
