CHAPTER 1 PART 3
*Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and the NEST truck with Sam, Leo, and Ray all drove into the NEST/Autobot base. The base also served as a refugee camp for any humans found by the Autobots. Once they went in, they could see the five turrets lined up to the right and left in case any Decepticon were to break in. The base was mostly jungle that had all of it's trees removed. Driving up a bit further, they went up to the four watchtowers. In each tower there were about three NEST soldiers. In command of these soldiers was the Autobot Jazz. Sideswipe and Bumblebee transformed and looked up to one of the towers.*
Bumblebee: Hey Johnson! Where's Jazz?
Johnson: He's around here somewhere. I think he just went to get Red Alert.
Sideswipe: Speak of the Devil.
*Sideswipe was looking to the left. Around a corner drove out Jazz in his Pontiac Solstice mode, and Red Alert in his tiny medical vehicle mode. Sam and Leo got out of the truck.*
Leo: Ray, you okay with driving this up to headquarters?
Ray: Pretty short drive. Sure. I'll catch up with you guys later.
Sam: Sounds good, take it easy buddy.
*While Ray drove away in the truck, Jazz and Red Alert drove up and transformed. Red Alert was the smallest of the Autobots, only eight feet tall. Jazz however remained second in command. Even though Optimus died, Jazz said that he never saw himself as a leader, so Ironhide took up the job as the new Autobot commander.*
Sam: Hey Jazz, how's it going?
Jazz: Hey, what's happening Sam. Everything's cool. Nice job taking out those Pretenders Sideswipe.
Sam: Is Rodimus back yet?
*Jazz shook his head in dissapointment.*
Jazz: No, Rodimus ain't back yet.
Bumblebee: Jeez, that would make it three months now since he's left.
Jazz: Yeah. And I'm really getting tired of him not even answering his comlink.
Leo: Are you sure he's alright?
Jazz: Course he's alright. The bot keeps updating me of his location every couple of days. But he never says anything else.
Red Alert: Ironhide is starting to get angry at it. He's saying that the next time Rodimus returns he won't be able to leave again. He'll be appointing Rodimus to guard duty when he gets back.
*Looking up, the group could see that Springer and Powerglide were flying in, going to the runway.*
Red Alert: Listen, I'm just going to go collect those bodies. You sure they're all dead?
Sideswipe: If they aren't, Ray's going to be pissed at me.
Wasn't Rodimus told to be leader by Optimus before he died? Or is Ironhide only leader when Rodimus isn't around? To me, it sounds like Ironhide took command. I'm a bit confused.
Heh, don't think I didn't remember. Trust me, everything is going to be explained.
Alright, big update!
Below is the first part of Chapter 2, and a special suprise!
Presenting my fan-fic Rodimus, by our awesome new artist Stiles!
Also pictured is Rodimus' vehicle mode, which you might remember is from our former artist Jazz00.
CHAPTER 2 PART 1
THE KALAHARI DESERT
*In the desert, a new red sports car drove the barren wasteland. It sported two flame decos on the doors, and one large flame deco on the hood. The license plate to the car read R3V3NG3. The car was driving so fast that that sand being blown was almost completely covering it. This was Rodimus, and he was on a hunt. Once Optimus Prime had died, Rodimus made it his sworn duty to find Megatron and make him pay for his crimes. Right now, Rodimus was on the trail of Snarler, one of Megatron's Predacon soldiers. He was given the location of Snarler after interrogating a Decepticon warrior, who Rodimus left with an arrow in the head. Rodimus made a sudden stop. He was near the location given to him, so he couldn't risk being so loud. He transformed into his robot mode, which was now covered in the many battle scars Rodimus had acquired since he last left the Autobot base three months ago. He pulled his bow from his back. He would have to walk on foot now. Before he started, he made started a quick comlink with Ironhide back at the base.*
Rodimus: Ironhide, it's me.
Ironhide: Rodimus? Get back to this base immediately!
Rodimus: I'll be back soon. I just wanted to let you know that I'm hot on Megatron's tail. I'm on a trail that supposedly leads to the location of a Predacon that would know where he is.
Ironhide: What do you mean supposedly?
Rodimus: Well they're Decepticons Ironhide, you can never completely trust them.
Ironhide: Decepticons?! What were you doing-
Rodimus: I just wanted to let you know where I was. See you soon old-timer.
Ironhide: OLD TIMER? That's something you'll never be if you don't-
*Rodimus shut off his comlink. He started walking to the east, his bow at the ready. As he was walking, words rang in his head. The last words Optimus spoke to him. Rodimus still repeated them in his head to this day.*
Optimus: You have to. The fate of this world depends not only on my sacrifice...But on your new leadership as well.
*Rodimus looked down sadly as he walked.*
Optimus: It's your duty Rodimus. Don't abandon it.
*Rodimus never told anyone that he was to replace Optimus as leader. Ever since he left Optimus alone with Megatron, the guilt Rodimus bore has convinced him that he is not fit to lead. If he hadn't left Optimus, it was quite possible that he would still be alive. Rodimus has since always blamed himself for Prime's death, and now hunts Megatron in hopes of redeeming himself and clearing his conscience. He sadly spoke to himself.*
Rodimus: Maybe someday Optimus...
*Rodimus walked up a hill. Once he got to the top, he could just see something in the distance. It was a small campsite, a flag flowing in the wind. With his highly advanced optics, he could see the Predacon symbol on the flag.*
Ahhh.... now I get it. Rodimus never told he was supposed to lead, therefore Ironhide took command. I getcha now.
Looking pretty good so far, hope Roddy doesn't die.
CHAPTER 2 PART 2
*Snarler was a burly beast of a bot. Brains did not match brawn however in his situation. The Predacon was sent on a mission a week ago on a scouting mission. Seeing as he was one of the dumber Predacons, Megatron was cautious to not send him on any serious mission alone. He sat down in front of his campfire, club in hand. Keeping lookout for any intruders to his camp. Suddenly, a voice spoke out.*
Rodimus: Don't move or you're gonna have an arrow where you're cortex used to be.
*Snarler grunted. He could hear Rodimus behind him, pulling back an arrow on his bow.*
Snarler: Who the slag are you?
Rodimus: Let me give it to you straight. You can tell me where Megatron is, or you can do otherwise and I'll kill you.
*Snarler looked down and bared his sharp robotic teeth.*
Rodimus: I'm looking for payback you waste of spark. Now tell me.
Snarler: Megatron...I don't know...
Rodimus. That's slag. I'm going to be a nice bot and give you one last chance. WHERE IS HE?
Snarler: I don't know! He moves to different places all the time so nobody can find him...Please believe me!
*Rodimus stood his ground, and considered. Snarler wasn't supposed to be the smartest bot around, so odds are he was telling the truth. A glower look filled his face.*
Rodimus: Alright then. I believe you...but just in case you're lying.
*Snarler let out a yell, that was quickly cut off when Rodimus released his arrow. The arrow went right through Snarler's head, with energon and oil splattering forward. Snarler fell down, dead. A few sparks poured out from the head, showing that the cortex had been shattered. Rodimus stepped back and glared at the body of the Predacon. Looking around, there was nothing else of any worth to examine or take. He looked up, and shot a arrow through the Predacon flag, tearing it in half.*
Rodimus: What a waste of time.
*Rodimus began heading back the way he came and started a comlink with Ironhide.*
Rodimus: Ironhide, it's me.
Ironhide: Rodimus? Get back here right now you insubordinate-
Rodimus: I'm on my way right now Ironhide. The mission was a complete waste of time.
Ironhide: I could have told you that...listen, just get back here as soon as possible.
Rodimus: I will, trust me. I-
*Suddenly, Rodimus noticed something. In the sky, a huge object was falling towards the desert at least half a mile away. It was aflame, and was ready to crash.*
Rodimus: I...need to go.
Ironhide: What? Rodimus I order you-
*Rodimus cut the comlink, transformed, and drove as fast as he could towards where the object was headed.*
CHAPTER 2 PART 3
*The object crashed hard. The resulting explosion sent fire and sand everywhere. When Rodimus arrived, he made a sharp turn as to avoid the resulting blast. Transforming, he ducked. Once the fire had settled a bit, Rodimus went over to the object. It was large, actually around the size of the hill itself. It was obviously Cybertronian in design, and slight spots of a clean gold and blue paint scheme were seen here and there, but the fire and the impact had burnt away most of the outer shell. Leaving much of the inner workings exposed. What interested Rodimus the most however was the symbol that was still visible on the door of the ship. The Autobot symbol. He ran to the door and started to pull.*
Rodimus: Hello? Is anyone in there?
*Suddenly, the door bursted open by itself. Rodimus fall back. Smoke started pouring out of the ship. Rodimus tried to wave some away from his optics so he could see.*
*A sound started to come out of the ship. The sound of someone groaning. Rodimus went inside and looked around.*
Rodimus: Hello? Where are you?
*The groaning continued. Rodimus looked around the almost completely wrecked ship. After searching for a while, he finally saw something. The shape of a bot who's legs were missing. Lost in the crash. Rodimus rushed over and picked the bot up.*
Rodimus: Are you alright?
Alpha Trion: The...the Disk...
*Rodimus looked down. Amidst all of the smoke, only one thing was clearly visible. A bright golden object that Alpha Trion held in his hand.*
Rodimus: Whatever that is, hang on to it. We're getting you out of here.
Alpha Trion: The Disk...contains...the information...
*Rodimus ran out of the ship, Alpha Trion's arm around his shoulder. Once Rodimus was out of the ship, it exploded. Chunks of metal were sent flying everywhere. The blast itself sent Rodimus and Alpha Trion flying. They landed hard, being lost inside a cloud of sand. Once it cleared, Rodimus got up and looked over to see Alpha Trion laying down, his optics fading. Rodimus knelt down and held Alpha Trion's head in his hand*
Rodimus: You're optics. We need to get you some help.
Alpha Trion: The war...Is it over?
*Rodimus looked grim.*
Rodimus: I'm sorry, no.
*Alpha Trion layed his head back down.*
Alpha Trion: The disk contains all of the information you need to win this war...It contains all of my recordings from the last 6,000 years.
*Rodimus looked at the Disk laying next to Alpha Trion. It glowed a bright gold. Rodimus took it and examined it. On the disk was what seemed to be a map of sorts. He looked back at Alpha Trion.*
Rodimus: Who are you?
*Alpha Trion started to close his optics.*
Alpha Trion: Follow the map on the Disk...You will win this war...
Rodimus: Wait, no! I'll get you some help.
*As Alpha Trion's optics went dead, he said his last words.*
Alpha Trion: Till all are...one...
*His optics went black. Rodimus put the Disk down and opened his chest compartment only to see that there the spark was dead. Rodimus gave him a moment of silence, then picked the Disk up again to examine it.*
Rodimus: Follow the map? How am I supposed to make any sense out of this thing?
*Suddenly, Rodimus looked up to see that a dark green Osprey helicopter was flying towards him. Rodimus knew who it was. He started a comlink.*
Rodimus: I can explain.
Springer: Not my buisness. Explain to Ironhide.
Interesting. I actually thought that Alpha Trion would stay alive a little longer than this...
CHAPTER 3 PART 1
*While Africa had become the home for the Humans and Autobots, the rest of the world was Decepticon territory. Over five thousand had taken residence on Earth, with many others arriving each month. But the main base for the Decepticons was in Washington D.C. It was certain why, but most believed Starscream was doing it in spite of the Humans. At the Lincoln Memorial, the statue of Abraham Lincoln had been completely removed to make way for Starscream. Who now used the chair as a throne. Almost every major monument in America now had the Decepticon symbol carved into it. Starscream sat in his throne, with several of his main soldiers standing in front of him. The Decepticon Cyber-Samurai, Bludgeon. kneeled in front of his leader before speaking.*
Bludgeon: My lord, Downbeat and Oil Slick are almost ready to ambush a group of Autobots in the Drakensberg Mountains.
Starscream: Good...any notable Autobots in the group?
Bludgeon: Rhinox sir. He leads the team in an investigation of the explosion that Thunderblast triggered.
*The Naval Decepticon, Snaptrap, chimed in.*
Snaptrap: However master, Vortex reports that an unknown vessel has crashed at the desert. He recalls seeing Autobot symbols on it.
*Starscream gave it a moments thought, but then glared at Snaptrap.*
Stasrcream: And why, Snaptrap, would this be of any concern to me?
*Snaptrap worriedly looked at Starscream.*
Starscream: WHY...pray tell...would an idiot Autobot pilot be of any concern to me?Unless it's the reincarnation of Optimus Prime, I honestly don't give a slag.
Snaptrap: Vortex saw the Autobot,it was dead sir.
Starscream: That's your reason?
Snaptrap: No my master, Vortex....Vortex believes that he saw the Golden Disk.
*Starscream couldn't help but chuckle a bit.*
Starscream: Snaptrap...You are one of the most respected Decepticons on this planet. Don't you think it is foolish to believe in myths?
Snaptrap: But sir-
Starscream: That's enough Snaptrap. I believe the Decepticons have bigger things to worry about than what some fool thinks he saw in the desert.
Snaptrap: I...I suppose so.
Starscream: Good. Now gather up your team, you are to meet Slipstream at the Yucat'an Peninsula in Mexico. She will be delivering a package to you.
Snaptrap: Package? What package is so important that she can't just fly it here?
Starscream: Something that has no concern to you. Not even Slipstream fully knows what it is. Now go.
*Snaptrap glowered, then walked away while grumbling to himself. Starscream looked back at Bludgeon.*
Starscream: Don't worry Bludgeon, you won't be left out.
*Bludgeon was sharpening his sword, but looked up at Starscream, confused.*
CHAPTER 3 PART 2
*Rodimus was escorted into the base by Springer and Trailbreaker, an Autobot sergeant.*
Rodimus: C'mon you guys, is this really necessary?
Trailbreaker: Ironhide's orders. Sorry, he doesn't want to take any chances.
Rodimus: What are you talking about
Springer: Ironhide has had a lot on his processor lately. The fact that you constantly leave more months is putting way to much stress on him.
Rodimus: That doesn't answer my question. And where are you taking the body of the bot that I found?
Springer: To be honest, I honestly don't know what Ironhide is talking about.
Trailbreaker: The bot's body will be taken to Ratchet for examination.
Rodimus: And the Disk?
Springer: Wheeljack will look at it.
*They approached the headquarters, where Ironhide usually resided. Looking around, Rodimus saw a few other Autobots walk up. Bumblebee, Hound, and Kup.*
Springer: Sorry you guys, Ironhide doesn't want him talking to anybody.
Kup: Get off it Springer, he's one of us. We have a right to talk to him.
*Springer looked at Tarilbreaker, who hesitantly nodded in agreement.*
Springer: Alright, but make it quick.
Bumblebee: Rodimus, what have you been doing? Where have you been?
Rodimus: I've been hunting down Megatron. Unfortunately for me, I think he knows that. Every Predacon I've talked too had no idea where he was.
Hound: He's been keeping a low profile since Prime's death. Only a few of his followers know where he is.
Rodimus: Kup, do you know anything about a Golden Disk?
*Kup looked confused.*
Kup: Yeah I've heard of it...It's an old legend that we used in the war to comfort new recruits.
Rodimus: Tell me everything you know.
Kup: Well it's kind of a long story.
Trailbreaker: We don't have time for long stories.
*Trailbreaker grabbed Rodimus by the shoulder.*
Trailbreaker: Let's go kid.
Kup: Now wait a minute!
Ironhide: Stand down Kup.
*The group looked over to see Ironhide standing in front of the base.*
Ironhide: That's an order. You, Hound, and Bumblebee need to go.
*Kup glared at Ironhide, then grudgingly walked away, Hound following. Bumblebee started to say something.*
Ironhide: You too Bumblebee, I'm not going to put up with insubordination.
*Bumblebee too, glared as well, then walked off. Ironhide looked down at Rodimus.*
Ironhide: What do you have to say for yourself?
Rodimus: That I possibly discovered something that could end this war?
Ironhide:You won't be ending anything except for your life if you keep this up. It's a dangerous world Rodimus, and it's stupid to go out there alone.
Rodimus: I can take care of myself.
Ironhide: You're supposed to set an example for the others! For the younger Autobots that can't take care of themselves alone!
*Rodimus looked down. Ironhide went to his eye level.*
Ironhide: Listen Rodimus, nobody blames you for Prime's death.
Rodimus: I know. I don't care what the others think Ironhide. If it wasn't for my mistake, this war might be over by now.
Ironhide: You put too much weight on your shoulders. You would be suprised to see how much you can accomplish if you stop blaming yourself. Trailbreaker, let go of him.
*Trailbreaker let go and backed away from Rodimus.*
Ironhide: I can't keep watching over you Rodimus. You're a grown, mature bot. You make your own decisions. But as far as I'm concerned, you're not my problem anymore.
*Ironhide walked off, with Trailbreaker and Springer following him into the base. As they walked away, Rodimus turned to see the community before him. NEST soldiers and Autobots were helping civilians build their new home. New refugees were coming in everyday. Rodimus himself walked off then, with a lot on his mind to consider.*
No offense, but this is going slooooooooow... It was already on page 3!
Yeah, I know it's been a LONG time since I've updated. I'm not going to try to excuse myself, I'm sorry. But I will finish this.
