Showblitz report that Paramount and Hasbro (who we have already discovered are considering more Transformers movies) are now considering shooting fourth and fifth movies back-to-back with "active discussions" said to be taking place. Sources close to the site have informed them that it's likely two films will be produced at the same time due to the massive savings this ensures the studio. Screenwriter Ehren Kruger reportedly has an well liked idea for the two future installments, but they do NOT include Shia LaBeouf, who’s says he’s moving on, with other close sources indicating that it'll be Jason Statham who takes over. And what of director Michael Bay? Well, he's interested in returning to direct, but that may mean Paramount will have to wait for him to finish work on Pain and Gain first. He will however return as executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg.

I liking this a lot but I hate Jason Stathom, I cant stand his accent of his bad ass attitude in all his movies. Hes only good at playing one type of role. Hes good at it but i dont want him near any type of Transformer movie.

 

I don't mind that they're making more. But I more or less "don't care" after dark of the moon. I do hope they're good but its "whatevs" for me at this point. BUT, I do NOT want Statham in them. Take out shia but don't put in Statham.

 

Statham as Sam? I don't see it. Yay for more movies, though!

 

While I'm not enthusiastic about extending the Bay series, it's starting to seem inevitable. If it has to go ahead, I think this is a good way to go about it.

Shooting 2 films back-to-back should mean they put more thought and pre-planning into the continuity. And it seems more natural to stop at 5 than 4. What is that a quintology or a pentalogy?

It'll also solve the problem of ending up back in the same situation when the 4th film is completed and they have to convince/throw money at Bay or whoever to get another one made.

 

Jason Statham is awesome and I like his movies a lot, but he doesn't exactly have the acting chops to bring real emotion to the role. Plus, if you thought that humans killing Decepticons were bad in the other movies, then every Autobot except Optimus can sit this battle out. However I do like the sound of these ideas as long as they know what they're doing and stay focused on the fourth movie for now and the basic plot setup. Now if you excuse me, I have to hide before Jason Statham finds me.

(IF) Jason comes on as a main character, it will to be a NEW main character and to NOT play as Sam. Sam's Character is done. As for these 2 movie being shot together to save time and money... I for one like the idea as it will allow for them to make at least 2 movies that will follow an overall story path and not be 3 movies that in all honesty should never have been put together as a trilogy. This will also allow for a much deeper cast and more character development as these 2 movies can tell a longer more well balanced story and lead into a real 3rd killer of a 3rd movie to close it all out.

 

Well, I'm excited about two more movies  

Not sure about Statham though. I think if he was in it it wouldn't be as Sam, probably a new character. His style just wouldn't fit in my opinion... I mean we have Optimus Prime and the Autobots, why do we need Jason Statham?   I don't know I'm just not sure how that would work.

I'm really excited to see what new direction the story could go in though.

maybe the third movie in the trilogy can be broken up into two movies.. like harry potter and twilight.

 

I'm always a sucker for the movies..so I am quite excited   I'm really excited to see what the story will be..

 

I don't see why anyone would be excited for Jason Stathom. He stars in moderately budgeted "B" action movies. He's not the guy for this.

Oh no i'm not excited for Jason Stathom..I hope they choose someone else. But if they end up going with him I guess I can just ignore him and focus on the bots

They're going to drive the franchise right into the ground, it seems to me.

I hope I'm proven wrong. But after RotF and the letdown I felt in DotM... not optimistic.

 

With the money it makes, it's hard to say "no" to making another.
