    "we need a new army."

So, how are mechanized dinosaurs that seem land-locked, going to help bring down massive ships that suck up things?

And by the looks of that second shot, these humans learned nothing from the Child's Play sequels.

Looking at TFA deluxe Lockdown next to TFA voyager Prime in alt modes and then bot modes. Lockdown transforms into a huge bot compared to his alt. The movie mass shift is noticeable but not as bad as it may first seem.

It will be when comparing a Deluxe with a Leader. In terms of the normal standard Deluxes, they get to approximately half Leader height. That's still the case with the downsized figures. They would have to pull off some major tricks in order to get Lockdown to be even Voyager scale and it's still not necessarily perfect then.

Lockdown has a gun face, now he has a hook? I wonder if the toy will have any of these features.

TFA deluxe Lockdown is voyager scale in bot mode. He's a good head taller than voyager Prime. Major trick accomplished.

Woah woah woah. Are you suggesting...that...Transformers toys...are not accurately scaled?!

Yep, called it. Lockdown is a Herald of Unicron.

The science bit with what they are made of seemed rather interesting. A nice departure if the science fiction element is going to feel a little less magical this time and going for a way of explaining things that might be possible on some level. It also beats the Sector Seven bit of humans are total morons so everything is just humans coping the stuff they found tucked in Megatron somewhere.

After that though it felt been there done that just with different robots. Really starting to feel that franchise fatigue and while I do love robots and I do love dinosaurs a part of me is kind of wondering if I'm just not totally burned out on the live action franchise as is.

While it was neat, I refuse to get too hyped for this movie. Going into these kind of movies with lowered expectations can make them enjoyable.

Except that's Deluxe to Voyager comparison, as opposed to Deluxe compared with Leader. Evasion Prime will probably be about the same height, they pulled some impressive tricks with him but to get him to compact rather than expand. Leader Prime will just be huge, though, so to have them be similar size in the film yet Lockdown be much smaller in toyline means I can only hope they'll pull the same trick to keep scale roughly accurate. In short, I was referencing the exact thing you saw fit to mention. So...

Yes yes, fun jokes. I know there will never be a perfect scale, but I don't see why he had to be enormous in the movie instead of being a Voyager-ish scale in the movie. Granted, we don't have all the shots, but it pretty clearly appears he's enormous. I'm just saddened that we've gone from having three Leaders in DOTM where one was simply a character who didn't need it vs. one who did (Bee vs Megs), and now we're down to two and while Lockdown doesn't need it, we could have had a Leader Galvatron in that third slot with a Voyager Lockdown.

    S'all I'm saying.

Looks AMAZING. Super excited... I actually gave an out loud "woot!" at Lockdown claw! TFA in the movieverse! :D

And I'm glad they didn't give TOO much away, still lots of surprises in store.

    ILM continues to amaze me.

That particular scene where Lockdown rolls up and transforms (where his hook is prominently shown) was indistinguishable from the background. Incredibly brilliant work as always. Pure digital artistry benchmark.

Starscream has been mass shifting for the past 3 movies, even if you take into account that he's waddling around in a crouch all the time. Lockdown's probably the reverse, tiny alt mode with a big bot mode
