That bit about the kids in Jordan instantly recognizing the car as Bumblebee just warms my heart.

 

I know if my 9 yr old nephew sees a yellow Camaro, it's gotta be Bumblebee. I saw a black Bee the other day, Autobot symbols and all....sometimes the yellow is just too much.  

 

In other news, GM just recalled half a million Camaros..

i really like the publicity our brand is getting but it's a double edged sword... i hate tk be that guy but i don't like that all kids know of transformers is generic monster decepticons, silent bumblebee, brutal optimus, etc. i'm not sayin all change is a bad thing but too much change is...

 

Bumblebee isn't a Camaro, no matter how bad he wants him to be, and that new model is even more plain than the original - and frankly, I haven't heard many people who think it looks better than the last version.

Most American cars look the same and lack real creative style to get out of the box, hence why the G1 cast was not made up of 80% American cars. It's quite boring and not "wow" to look at, especially after 4 movies.

Also, good luck buying an actual Bumblebee. For all the cross promotion, you really have only ever been able to purchase a couple of the cars they have featured, and even then heavily modified (Bumblebee's yellow isn't even remotely correct - does Hasbro make full sized cars now?).

Michael Bay likes Camaros, we get it. Nobody cares. Surprised he has a Porsche Turbo considering the piece of shit they made Jazz (Pontiac was defunct within 3 years).

That was a nice little rant. You can add to that the fact that we never got the Ferrari which sucks donkey ass as that was one of the only couple of cars that is actually really cool.

 

They only want to give people a new key. The ignition itself is perfectly safe. Just bad timing is all.

 

I thought Porsche didn't allow Bay to use the car as a robot?

 

then i guess you haven't been paying attention.. i absolutely LOVE the new bumblebee camaro.. YES it's a camaro.

it's gorgeous.. from the shapes of the headlights, to how slender the front grill is.. it just looks sleek and awesome.. i think this is EASILY the best camaro bumblebee has used thus far. i think it represents his character better than the others.

really? .. i've seen TONS of camaro's and TONS of yellow camaro's.. and i've seen quite a few of the dotm model bumblebee camaro's.. and yes, they were just about identical to how it looked in the movie. i've also seen quite a few of the transformers edition camaro's on the road. the movie has CLEARLY influenced people.. or at least has brought the car a lot of attention. i sure as hell have seen a lot more camaro's than i've seen mustangs or chargers. had bumblebee been one of those, i'm sure it'd be different because the new mustangs look awesome too.

i don't know where you live, but the new camaro design is VERY popular here and i see a lot of them.. they definitely draw your attention from all of the other cars on the road.

not every company can afford to make a completely out of the box looking car.

i personally like the solstice.. and i don't believe that jazz being a solstice had anything to do with the company going belly up. as well as the camaro has done, chevy's other vehicles need to sell well too.

i enjoy reading about bay and cars.. you can't deny that he's made a name for himself when it comes to vehicles.

say what you want about the movies, or any of his movies (most of which i have enjoyed).. he just seems like a likable guy.. and the fact that he's truly passionate about this stuff is cool to me. he doesn't seem like someone who is out there just for a paycheck.

i just don't understand what kind of cars you expect?.. as it is now the cars he's used are rather exotic and different.. the camaro (like i've said)

the solstice is cool looking.

the GMC topkick truck is gigantic and is a great choice as far as pickups go.

i don't know how anyone can't like the concept corvette.. i'm not a big corvette fan, i love the old 70's/80's corvettes, but sideswipes concept corvette mode is probably one of my favorite transformers vehicles, it's just REALLY neat looking.

then there's the shelby cop car, i think that's a perfect choice for a believable cop car.

skids, mudflap, and jolt aren't my favorite vehicles, but not all of the characters can have cool sports car alt modes.

the wreckers were just plain badass looking.. i'm not a fan of nascar AT ALL.. but those vehicles just look incredibly cool. there's no way around it.

que's alt mode isn't my favorite, but like i said, not all of the characters can be sports cars. que's alt mode definitely fits his robot mode.

and now we have another corvette (with an awesome paint job) a bugatti, a pagani, a lamborghini aventador, and maybe a rally car.

the cars are cool looking. i don't know what other cars you'd want that would actually make sense. and i hope you're not one of those people who want all of these exotic expensive cars in the movie, and then say that you want the robots to be in 90% of the movie. that's just not how it works.

 

Yep. Them and almost everyone else. GM wasn't stupid though.

Now everyone is practically begging to have a car in the movie. Just look at how Volkswagen changed their mind.

Vw hasn't changed their mind. They prob still won't let bay use a car for the movie. The fact that bb is a vw bug in the masterpiece edition is due to Taraka Tomys association with car companies with their Tomica die cast cars. The designer said this before.

 

Oh yes they have changed their mind. They already have two cars in Age of Extinction.

Bugatti is actually a Volkswagen product. Look it up. On the TF website deluxe Drift's description literally says "Volkswagen Bugatti mode." Lamborghini is also a component of Audi which, of course, is a division of Volkswagen. There is a Bugatti and a Lamborghini in AOE. Volkswagen obviously wants in on it now.

 

Let's not forget that one video of a faded classic VW Beetle on a trailer with Evasion Optimus' truck mode..

 

The new Camaro looks too similar to the Dodge Charger... the old Camaro looked better.

 

This is another reason why the 70's & 80's were better. I miss the days when we simply went to the theater & watched a movie & then talked about it with our friends. We never gave a rat's ass about how the effects were done or the actors or the director or the writers or anything behind the scenes. We just watched the fucking movie & moved on with out lives. 80's=BETTER!

 

Ignorance really is bliss I guess.
