Well, if it is an April Fools joke I suppose we'll find out tomorrow.
I didn't even know there were such things as glass-bottomed passengers needing flights.

If this is true it would be a giant coop on Hasbro and Paramount's part. They clearly see Bay as pivotal to Transformers movies being successful and shooting them in one go would do a lot for them cost-wise. Not needing to recast and renegotiate salaries for actors, not needing to set up all of the sets, knock them down then rebuild, etc.

Bay's biggest contribution direction-wise is in staging the real world stunts and explosions. He could film three movies and then hand the footage over to a digital effects assistant director to finish a lot of the shots he designed over the following few years letting him do something else as he keeps saying he wants to do. Then he just needs to keep tabs on the effects progress and show up for editing sessions.

This would also give Hasbro movie merchandise years either consecutive or every other years which would be a huge motivator on their part. No other filming schedule would give them such a compressed release schedule for movies which means more years of big money for them. Assuming the movies don't bomb of course in which this would be an impressive disaster.

As much as I'm annoyed at getting ANY more Bay-directed nonsense, I'd be okay with this. It means we'd get through this new "trilogy" that much faster, and thus hopefully can move onto better things sooner.

Hard to believe they'd actually do that... but yeah, I'd be okay with it.

If the toys are on the levels of ROTF's (which they won't be) I'm OK with this. And maybe having the films so close together will make the general audience get sick of them faster.

That being said, I'm leaning towards this being an April fool's day prank

I wouldn't be surprised seeing the success of DOTM bringing in the dough. Also I thought the hobbit trilogy was being filmed in this manor to??

different situation, The Hobbit series is adapted from an existing novel, the Transformers movies are new stories (they do homage existing plots from the franchise, yes, but that's not the same thing as being an adaptation)

It would behoove them to write a big enough story to break into 3 part$ ;)

    I could Kinda see this
Bay had was always going to make a fourth movie
he just denies after each one
but it looks like that may have changed since 5 and 6 are offical
but stories are rather easy to muster, its just the detail that takes time.
    i could see this happeneing

It is what this fandom deserves and I´ll explain why.

I think I realized why many elements of this fandom have so much bile. Because Bay breaks their illusion that they have something to say about the franchise. Hasbro occasionally throws a bone and that gives the fandom their usual self entitlement sense. Come in Bay, does whatever the fuck he wants and the random moans and bitches too no end. And of course they can´t deal with their little world being shattered by someone who simply does not give a fuck.
