Hey, I'm all for it being a shorter movie if it means stuff like this being cut out.

So I take you didn't see Quantum of Solace compared to Casino Royale? 30 minutes shaved off did not equal a better movie. And yes I did read the spoilers, and yes Sam's parents are in it. And if you saw the Amazon comic adaption leak, so are the dogs. So my post is no more wrong than yours. I, being the few who like ROTF, didn't need a 2.5 hour movie, but would have been fine with 20 minutes shorter.

I'd like to have a little more time with the Transformers since we'll be ending the film franchise. :/ Oh wellz.

ROTF was a bit long but...I really would like DOTM to be 2 hrs and 10 min. I find that perfect for blockbusters

No i liked that subplot so you're not alone.

My initial reaction to this was serious disappointment. But then I remembered that the first two movies had a 30 minutes at least in the first hour that was human/development stuff. This movie could easily have twice as much action, and just move at a brisker pace; while still being able to tell us its story. I've seen a few 100 minute movies that were super effective.

Then again, this is Bay. So i'm thinking we might just have a 109 minute explosion. But that doesn't bother me.

1h49m is more than enough time for a movie that is all fluff and no stuff.

I think this is a perfect length of time for a movie such as this,.

I know less can sometimes be more, but under 2 hours?

This could be a good thing, the hackers in the first film were stupid imo and ROTF had way too much going on. As long as the story isn't rushed (ie Thor smashing plates then being deeply in love seconds later) I'm okay with it.

Weren't the last two longer than that? At least two hours, right?

More doesn't always equal better. Toy story 3 was only 103 minutes long (yeah I know that's normal for animated movies but it was still a great movie)

I'm ok with the running time (not like I can do anything about it.) I'll just enjoy those 109 minutes to the fullest! Hopefully it just means less filler!

1 hour and 49 minutes is mighty short for a film like this.

I was hoping for a 3h+ epic Peter Jackson-like movie. FAIL.

I think that's because Optimus won't take 2-3 minutes to transform each time like he did in the first 2 movies.

What could that possibly have to do with anything? Two Bond movies have different runtimes and one isn't as good, so any sequel with a different runtime is indicative of quality? That's not even flawed logic, that's no logic.

And that's aside from the fact that runtime in general is not an indicator of overall film quality.

That would make me sad. ROTF had way too few and way too quick transformations.

Seriously. There is always a chance that it will be typical Bay fat squeezed into a shorter time frame but I'm optimistic that he's learned a few things, as he says he has. The first two films were nothing if not bloated. I just can't believe there's so much outrage over 11 minutes (according to most posters). I really think people just want more Transformers however they can get it, even if the quality of the movie suffers.
