I've really been enjoying these last couple of issues, looks like that's not gonna be changing any time soon.
Fantastic design for Streetwise there, I'm a big fan of the GT-R so that certainly doesn't hurt but the bot mode is very cool too.
Combines with *what*, exactly? Much as the Protectobots are my favourite combiner team, I can't honestly see HasTak doing an updated Defensor. Moreover, they make combiners the same way they make Triplechangers, focusing on one mode to the detriment of the other two modes. The individual robot modes'd suck, and the combined form would probably have the same levels of articulation as the Energon combiners. FansProject were looking for ideas, last time I checked. Ask them, maybe they'll consider it a challenge -- 'cause they'd sure-as-hell do a better job of an updated Protectobots/Defensor than HasTak would.
This preview right here may be what brings me back to reading IDW's stuff. Long as Don Figgy doesn't touch the books anymore and they keep this writer.
This is great stuff. Huge humanoid robots fighting with each other and in disguise on Earth. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. As much as a bit of space opera is fun, the sheer scale and scope with world destroyers and alternate realities in comic books always accelerates the story towards cataclysmic events much too rapidly, and the end of the series arrives too fast. Writers have nowhere to go.
Speaking of space, isn't that where Omega Supreme's meant to be? Streetwise asks about dragging Brawl back to OS... I thought this was all happening pretty close to that air war over Cyberton from a recent issue.
OS is in two places at once. His rocket is transporting Optimus, Megs and the Autobot troops to investigate Cybertron. His base mode, is where the Earth based Autobot are headquartered. Takes him out of the picture for last line of defense if push comes to shove (Bruticus). The Autobots need to get on getting combiner technology. Also, with so much spaced inside OS, I think it makes him more like Metroplex size than a large Combiner.
IDW has done to Prowl what Simon Furman did to Grimlock. Made him a badass. Prowl got moved to the front of my classics shelf after AHM Coda and LSOTW
