Well, Firstly I would like to apologize to everyone. I took these pictures Friday, and I'm just now posting them up :(  Sorry to have kept you waiting, and for letting another site as a result beat us to the punch. I have taken pictures of all of the DVD packaging, front, back, discs, inside, and the booklet; even the lenticular compared to the cover, showing both of its pictures.

Before I unveil the photos, first I'd like to share my thoughts on the DVD. I say thoughts as I'm not posting a formal review as the bulk of my version was to catalogue in detail all the myriad of features that it included, but alas, Joe Moore did that very same thing, so why be redundant?

My first reaction upon seeing the DVD out of the shipping envelope was "wow, this is really well done!" The lenticular cover that comes with the DVD is actually a completely separate piece, so you can frame it or display it in some other fasion if you so choose. Its really pretty seeing it in person, where you can get the full 3D effects. I love the way they decorated the actual discs, too. Disc one has Unicron in planet-mode, while Disc two has The Matrix seething with energy. I remember when we first got to see screencaps of what the main menus looked like, I was a little disappointed because it seemed really simplistic and cheap. But Seeing it on the big 50" TV changed my mind. I actually like it. Its got nifty animations, fore and back ground. Different characters come in and go out, then the background even changes when its time to do the same thing for the opposing faction. Having the TFTM theme song blaring while you're here is also something that really gets you in the mood. Another thing I love about the menus are when you go to the main special features menus, it blares the original G1 theme song! hell yeah. I tell you what, I think that regardless of how die-hard a fan you think you are, I believe its a pretty safe bet to say that if you watch all the special features that are jam-packed onto these 2 discs, you will learn some things that you never knew. I found all of the commentaries to be really enjoyable, and you know what? I HATE commentaries. I never use them on any of my other DVDS, and to be honest, I wouldn't have here either if not for doing it for a review. Boy am I glad I did! The only things that I found myself being disappointed by were that a) the many toy commercials are done back-to-back, only divided by 1) US toys 2)Japanese toys 3)Scramble-city toys; and b) I wished that the live-action featurette was so short. I wasn't expecting much in regards to that, I mean, its really early still. But I HAD hoped to get to hear more of them talking about all the difficulties they faced and things like that, but I guess they want that on THEIR DVD when the time comes for it, eh?

All-in-all, this movie is worth a LOT more than the $14.99 price that it seems to be going for at most places, and easily worth the suggested price that is just over $20.00. When the day comes, go out and get it!

Okay Andy (Hope you don't mind calling you that)

Have you found any of the Easter eggs on any of the discs?

If the answer's yes can you 1)Share what they are and 2)How one would access them

I don't know if this has already been answered but does anyone know whether this version is being released outside the US? I'm pretty sure I could get a R1 version from my comic book shop but I'd rather get a R4 version if there is going to be one.

And is the case a thin case or normal-sized?

From what I've seen it's hard to tell.

    Its a normal-sized case.

I honestly don't know about what countries will get a release, you're best bet would be to go to the official site and if its not posted there, fire off an email to them. The addy will be listed on their site.

I've honestly not seen a single easter egg, and I had the menus just sitting there blaring the original theme song for a good ten minutes while I was writing down notes for my original review. I have no idea what, where, or how you get them :(

    WANT. WANT.

I can't wait for this, especially since I never gave in and bought the earlier DVD releases.

Good begging doesn't have you first asking, and then calling them evil.

Any chance to get a shot of the picture below the second disk?

these chapter titles and breaks are lifted directly off the Rhino release from 5 years ago.

I was actually hoping Sony would do better because a few of these titles are way off.

Chapter 1 for instance is called "A Special Run" but that chapter is Unicron's attack on Lithone. Chapter 2 is the credits and then Prime's line about making a "special run" and then chapter 3 starts in MID SENTENCE when Jazz is calling moonbase 2.

it kind of continues on like that through the movie. bad choices for scene selections all over.

I would tell you where some of the Easter Eggs are but I can't deal with that right now

Its up to you to SELECT the best time to look

Besides, finding them is a quarter of the fun in owning the DVD

    Cheers
