Aside from the launching of the Power Core Combiners, Hunt for the Decepticons, and Generations 3 figures, there will be a raffle for special prizes

Oh lol, It's the classics molds, didn't see that one coming. I'm happy I didn't preorder that set.

Ooooh! That makes sense! BBTS, TFSource, etc... have them listed under Animated. Better go preorder before they jack up the price!
 

 

This is something separate from the "crystal" Animated Optimus and Rodimus; we have seen pictures from Japanese magazines of those molds in "crystal" deco.

I think I'll try and get this set, as I would prefer "crystal" versions of Classics Optimus and Rodimus.

Sons of Cybertron is something entirely separate and new, obviously. Really stayed under the radar, just like the black-box Universe Special Editions.

 

So there are two sets?

There's this one and then,

Japanese Transformers Animated - Optimus Prime & Rodimus Crystal Clear Set - Transformers Animated Japanese Figures ?

I'm all kinds of confused now cause I thought the animated set itself was called "Sons of Cybertron?" This one is the same name but its classics. Huh, wierd.

Edit, ^^ I thought someone translated that as Sons of Cybertron set?

Oh God, this is gonna cause me a headache figuring out how it will fit into toylines on the wiki. But at least we know what that clear Convoy/Rodimus pack is now.


EDIT: I wonder if Takara means "Sons of Cybertron" as in the planet Cybertron (as spelled in english fiction, and occasionally Japanese packaging) or as in Cybertron, the Japanese name for the Autobots until recently.

 

Hot diggity. I am guessing this is going to be way expensive as it seems from the first post that this is some sort of prize.

EDIT: I guess not, exclusive prize as Alternity Ultra Magnus is an EHobby release.

 

Well, this set adds some proof that the SDCC Rodimus reissue might happen.

I'm puzzled why they chose to make a set that would include that crappy deluxe Optimus Prime. Rodimus is great, but surely they could've chosen to pair him up with a figure more deserving of the crystal treatment.

This worked for Botcon Scorch, let's see how it does now. Yes, the Sons of Cybertron moniker is given to them too.

 

^ I was just about to say, "haven't we seen pictures of the Animated SoC set already?" So there is 2 sets. 1 Classics and 1 Animated. But I don't get it. Are these exclusives, or Lucky Draws, or something?

Personally, I don't really care for this set. I think I'd rather have the Animated ones. But I would like a Henkei Rodimus.
