Looks like TF2 may not make the orginal summer 2009 release date.

Well with the writer's strike, it's kind of up-in-the-air at the moment (as far as I know)

Ahahahahaha. Stupid Paramount setting the date before the film is even written.

To be honest, I'd prefer it if they waited until 2010... The way the writer's strike is going, the production timeframe is going to be awfully tight and we risk getting another War of the Worlds out of it.

Those dates are established so that they have a goal in mind and they can open the movie on one of the best weekends of the year. Once they make an official announcement for a big film like this, other studios will stay away. The dates are certainly not in stone.

Paramount was smart to set the date. If they can get it done, they'll have a (excuse the pun) prime weekend to open the movie. If not it'll be a XMAS release or next summer.

It will be all right. We just have to be patient and watch how this strike plays out. Nothing will stop the movie from being made that is to much money to leave on the table.

This claim is unfounded, and as-yet-unslotted is a false statement, as a slot was actually already announced. There is no basis to assume anything different yet, this article doesn't even recognize the 2009 date was ever mentioned.

What he said. I'm used to the old days of 3-5 years between sequels anyway. :)

Better to take their time and do it right, I think, than try to rush things. We'll all be happier in the long run I figure.

And he's apparently going to be leaking false information, so I'm not believing anything that comes out about the movie just yet.*

*Except that it has Transformers in it, which is pretty darn obvious not to believe.

Good, the longer this strike goes on the greater the odds of fresh ideas when it ends.

Well hell, the strike had to go and ruin such a nice birthday present for me in 2009... damn you ya stupid writers!

They really, really need to give some ground on this and get their heads outta their asses. I've read about what the writers actually want, a little bit more than they deserve in some areas, and completely understand why the producers will not bend anymore than they already have. Then again, I've never been one to love unions or the strikes they love oh so very much as nine times out of ten they don't think of anyone else other than themselves.
