So Transformers 1 had me at first before i had seen it in a curious state, after i saw it i loved every minute and watched it endlessly for a while..seriously XD

Revenge of the Fallen though not the best, to me, it still isn't the worse..and i still enjoy watching it from time to time..

Transformers 3?! where will it fall?

but in all seriousness i feel that Transformers 3 is the most looked forward to out of the entire trilogy because of how much of a let down RotF. Or is that just how i feel? Anybody?

I wouldn't say TF1 was amazing..I'd say it has alot of flaws technically..but yes, in the end I loved it despite those!

Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong during the production of ROTF HAS gone wrong, so I'm expecting TF3 to be better than that. Trying not to get my hopes up, because that might lead to dissappointment, but it seems they're taking hints from ROTF, and supposedly, Hasbro is even more involved this time.

I guess I'm hoping it will be at least on par with TF1, but of course the better the..err..better! :)

I think I am the only one who think TF1 was just barely better than ROTF <.<

Actually, I think there are alot of people like that. You shouldn't worry about it..if you didn't like it you didn't like it.

In my opinion, despite the flaws and a couple of bad taste jokes, I think the first movie was a really fun movie..but ROTF to me felt like they took everything that was bad and made a new movie out of that - robots getting more screentime didn't help to fight that for me personally.

There are people who like the first, hate the second..people who hate first, like the second..people who like them both, people who like neither..etc..:p

I just find it hard to get my hopes up for the third movie.

First movie had it's moments of wonderment and other cool moments, but then there were a lot of moments that are just stuff to fast forward threw. Not a horrible film but not really what I would have wanted either. We were told though just hang on and with a bigger budget and everything that it would all be better in the second film.

Revenge of the Fallen, ouch, not only bad but it lacked the fun factor of a watchable bad film. I felt more like over two hours at Gitmo than two hours watching a movie. Even by the lower than normal standards I expect out of Micheal Bay this was just bad.

Third film, I'm just not putting faith there either. We've seen lots of explosions and Bayhem but not really much to say there is anything to the movie beyond explosions and Bayhem. I'm just worried the third film will be all flash and no substance with some lame excuse to kill off all the Decepticons.

For me, TF1 had some kind of magic that ROTF was lacking. I don't know what it was, but for some reason the movie was just way more mystical and magical than ROTF was.
I'm guessing TF3 will be good, better than ROTF, but not as good as TF1 was. It's the third movie in a trilogy, and it's rare when the third movie in a series beats the original.

Okay Ebert, we are only witnessing the "bayhem" because it's on the city streets. what about everything else from mid aug-nov that will get filmed elsewhere and in sound stages?. just because we are seeing the chaos in Chicago doesn't mean the 2:45hrs of entire film will consist of that. A lot of the filler (talking) scenes only take days to shoot. We don't even know if John Malkovich, Dempsy or the other Lady shot any other scene yet.

If this Chicago shoot is near the climax of the film, they are spending a hell lot more of time than they did in ROTF.

The entire crew is confident this will be the best one, now they can just use that for marketing purposes, but it's in our best interest to believe them, because I really hope they can deliver.

And off the record i feel this one will be the best based on the Characters we know are in it, designs, actors and overall ''gist'' of the plot.

This is funny because, you know, Roger Ebert thought the first movie was actually pretty decent..he liked it!

Then the man dared to be critical of the second one and TF fans are going nerdrage over the guy's review and claim the guy doesn't know what he's doing.

Just saying..half of this board would be laughing and high fiving at his articles if he were to burn down Twilight. ;)

...and I guess I might be the only one that thinks that ROTF was way too better than TF1.

lets see...compare the opening sequence of both films:
TF1 -> Blackout fighting sequence then cuts to sam in school and buying is car.
ROTF -> awesome xanghai fight and then cuts to bumblebee destroying Sam's house

The opening sequence in ROTF was much better, IMO.

    middle of film:
TF1-> took like 1 hour to finally get all autobots presented and to know what the movie was all about (the autobots goal, decepticons goal and Sam's goal)
ROTF -> About the same. the difference is that we got TF fighting until this point.

    ROTF -> forest battle
TF1 -> mission city battle, EPIC fail!!! (megatron vs Optimus prime fight, for example, ROTF fights had more action, more screen time, more everything)

Overall I think ROTF was much better than TF1...and I expect TF3 to be epic because, c'mon, we have Megatron,Soundwave, Shockwave and Starscream all together on Earth, in the same city! That's going to be awesome!:popcorn

Am I the only person who liked ROTF more than TFTM? I mean, in TFTM most of the Decepticons showed up right at the end of the movie and that was basically it for them. No character development what-so-ever on their part. I felt ROTF remedied this quite nicely with the 1-on-1 scenes between Megatron and various Decepticons, the Soundwave scenes, The Fallen's backstory, etc. It just felt like a more robot-centric, fleshed out story to me. The first one felt more like a hidden alien invasion than a TF film. That being said, I enjoyed both, and I have high hopes for 3

No, I got that part. But the Ebert comparison makes no sense.

Or are you implying Mr. Ebert does not watch the full movies he reviews? :D

Every film crew though says their film is going to be the best thing released. Even Uwe Boll will tell you how great his film is going to be. I can't think of any film where the production team says no this is film is just going to be crap. Yet for all the promises made by Hollywood each year we only get a few excellent films.

Yes it's possible that some of the other stuff yet to be filmed will be really good stuff that adds to the film. The problem though is that so far most of the stuff that hasn't been action in these films have been filler that could be skipped over.

Maybe there is going to be more than face ripping and explosions, but for someone like me there has to be a bit of proof and not just blind faith that with enough character actors or robots they can get out something that would be remarkable for more than the special effects.

like how he judged the movie was confusing and nauseating just because he didn't know which robot is who. if he'd seen the first one, it should have been pretty clear - almost everyone returned. just because he doesn't know who is who doesn't make it a confusing movie.

Inception was a little confusing at first, but I wont use it as a negative toward the film and say 'I didnt know wtf was happening, it nauseated me'
