I went to my local comic shop today and asked about the incentives. They'd only be getting the McGuinness cover cause the other is 1/250? Is that the Botcon exclusive?

In Kickbacks thread he says:

The Prime one with designs is the Botcon cover correct? There's a McGuinness one too. Now there's a 3rd one with Don?

Just a little confused here. Is it two incentives (Don and McGuinness) plus the Botcon exclusive or is the Botcon part of the incentives? (just McGuinness and Botcon)

 

No idea on them and honestly don't care. IDW is notorious for putting out multiple covers of everything just like Dreamwave. They had 5 covers for Angel #1. Put out either a cover and a variant of a few even ratio covers. None of this 4 equal covers but fo every 25 books you'll get a special and for every 50 another different special.

I call bullshit.

 

I think Kickback meant that Don's art was included on the BotCon cover, you can see the WW Prime on it. There has been no Don cover announced.

The 1/250 ratio for the BotCon cover is news to me, glad I'm going to BotCon. It would make sense if they are only publishing enough for the attendees of the con that there won't be many printed.

 

If I'm able to head back to my shop soon, I'll ask again, could have heard wrong.

 

I got that ratio too when I checked with my supplier a few days ago. The McGuinness cover is also very limited, with a 1/100 ratio.

 

i told my comic shop to hold as many covers as they can get for me.

 

Just reconfirmed in an email I sent to Comic-Central.com (they plan to offer both covers).

Botcon (1/250) would probably be around $20 US and the EMC (1/100) might be a little more.

 

Thanks for the confirmations guys, I hope they'll be charging 99 cents for the BotCon cover at BotCon...

 

And here I was thinking we'd just get a good comic. Instead we get a "gotta catch 'em all" comic with the comic shops taking the incentive covers and selling 'em for insane prices. I thought we were past all that.

 

Not as long as it makes money.
