Yeah, Prime got down a tier, Season two is still shit, bite me.

 

Imo season 2 is the best season of prime because each episode of that season kept making want to watch more plus they introduced a bunch of cool characters like dreadwing, smokescreen, and Hardshell who we’re pretty cool imo and I really loved the relic hunts and the finale imo is the greatest transformers finale ever that was probably the first time the autobots ever lost for more than an episode and also s2 is where the decepticons shine especially starscream

 

The problem is that everything the finale did was pretty much undone, so it all amounted to nothing. In fact, that's one of the big problems I have with TFP, it talks the big talk, but it can't walk the walk. Promises big things, but they all ended up being disappointing.

There are no consequences for the characters, they just get it too easy, whereas in a show like Beast Machines, the actions of a character cause some pretty big impact on the situation, but in TFP, every moment that was supposed to be impactful just went down the drain with the Autobots still being pretty much unchanged since the first episode. And it doesn't help that Megatron is just the most moronic leader you can get in here. His constant bungling and tendency to throw away valuable assets (like Cylas) just made me wish Starscream had remained leader. The show wants you to believe the stakes are high, but with Megatron screwing up his own forces, I just can't bring myself to believe that. He honestly makes G1 cartoon Megatron in his most idiotic moments look like a badass, 'cause at least those idiotic moments were played for giggles, but here, if they want a more serious approach, they really shouldn't make Megatron this kind of a tool (or better yet, don't have him on the show at all).

Dreadwing in particular was such a wasted character. When he was added, all he did was just screw-up and then, after a while, he just got the ax in a very anticlimactic way.

Smokescreen was one of the few likeable characters in the show, the problem is his personality is more akin to someone like Hot Rod more than Smokescreen (whereas Wheeljack felt more like Smokescreen to me personality-wise).

And Hardshell... another waste of time. He lasted only two episodes, and like Dreadwing, got a pretty anticlimactic sendoff.

Again, the whole series just irritated me to no end. I just was constantly annoyed by it.

D - Armada (the last ten episodes saves it from being awful), Energon (has a handful of watchable episodes, too bad they never go anywhere)
F - BM (completely missed the basic point that Transformers and their planet are unique in all of science fiction by being completely robotic, not techno-organic cyborgs, plus characters doing 180s on characterizations from BW)
Masterforce (only seen a few episodes, but completely missed the basic point that Transformers are unique in all of science fiction by being transforming sentient robots, not brainless battle suits for humans many of whom are minors including the bad guys, "Junior Deceptions" wtf?)
Combiner Wars/Titans Return/Power of the Primes (completely trashed my favorite character Hot Rod/Rodimus)
Haven't Seen: Victory, BWII, BW Neo, Anything else Japanese, Rescue Bots Academy

 

RID 2001 would be in lower B to High C imo.

 

I'm surprised Victory is so high on many peoples lists...

 

Here’s my updated tier list

S tier: prime, animated

A tier: beast wars

B tier: beast machines, cyberverse, siege

C tier: g1, potp

D tier: armada, cybertron, combiner wars, RB, RBA

F tier: titans return, rid15, energon

 

Since siege recently came out, after watching it twice, I put it at the top of B tier behind Beast Wars II and ahead of Cyberverse.

C (not bad!): Rescue Bots, Cybertron, RID15

S tier: Beast Wars (Best writing, good jokes, revolutionary CGI, expressive facial models, epic guitar riffs, good fights)
A tier: Transformers Prime (The best series since Beast Wars hands down. But it was an refinement rather than a revolution. Didn't have great jokes but had good action scenes and characters.)
B tier: TF Cybertron (They got Paul Oakenfold to do the intro, respect. Plus the VAs were lol)
C tier: Armada, Beast Machines, Prime Wars (They were all kinda serious but one tone shows)
D tier: Cyberverse, Animated (The same makers of Animated also came up with Ben 10 Omniverse, which was so bad they had to reboot the franchise. Real talent, slow clap)
F tier: tfrid2001, TF Energon (Really bad dubs)

 

S Tier: Primax Series (G1, Beast era, Car Robot, Prime Wars, Wr For Cybertron) Same Continuity or not.
