Last year sometime I saw a fellow board member create 'Scamper' (Metroplex's little black car-bot) from a Classics Bumblebee + an Armada 'Bendy' Prime head.

I had the opportunity to make one of those recently, and wanted to share the result with everyone.

Painted with Mr. Hobby matte black lacquer paint & Gunmetal, sealed with Mr. Spray UV Cut Super Clear matte.

To keep the black/black colorscheme from looking too monotonous, I used a metallic black on the windshield/windows, and a Citadel Gloss varnish on the bumpers, runners, and above the wheel hubs.

Thanks to the lacquer paint and proper sanding/prep there's zero paint rub after many, many Transformations.

For my version, I swapped the legs (so the thighs are backwards), as I've also made a Goldbug, and wanted them to look a bit different. I also modified the bumper, and added some styrene work so the bumper doesn't look hollow when in Bot mode.

The doors pop off, and I used a bit from the Infinity War I set (red) to create the energon blade assembly. I usually display him with his doors 'on' though.

The gun is from Fakebuster's Shapeways weapons, printed in SWF/polished. I dyed the material black. I Superglued the scope & peg down, spraypainted with the same metallic black as the windshield, and added some detailing (red scope, black grips, etc.).

The blue sword came from an Energon figure, I think. I'd love some identification on that piece, as it'd be nice to source out alternate colors. A blade that scale works really well as a short sword/dagger for any Deluxe-sized TF.

In hindsight, I wish I'd made this guy using a modded Classic Wheeljack , since the original Scamper was a bit lanky, and Classics 'Bee is anything but. Still, I really like how this stubby little guy turned out.

    Hope you enjoy the pics.

I always said one day I'd make a custom Scamper for my collection but never thought of using the 'bee mold. But, it looks good!

Heh, yours might have been the one I saw last year while searching for Scamper customs. :)  Seeing your pics reminds me: I forgot to paint the taillights red!

Ah well, the original Scamper was molded black plastic. No need for tail lights when you live in the chest of a giant robot. ;)

That looks awesome! I believe the blue sword is from a TransFormers Animated Arcee figure. She comes with two of them, and they fit in her backpack.

Man everyone that knows me, knows i LOVE black repaints, and this right here is a WINNER!!!

All that black yet everything is till divided and has lots of detail still coming through! Really like how you used flat black, gloss black and metallic black and the gun metal is so dark it looks like another black haha!!

    great work man!

Thanks for your comment on this & on the FOC G2 Prime custom of mine. Much appreciated. I'm a fan of combining flat/glossy surfaces of the same color - it adds a really cool dynamic to a figure. For my Goldbug custom (still in progress), I'll be doing that on the bumpers - matte gold vs. glossy gold.
