I just got my Mebsuta armour earlier today and good grief does it make a figure like the FOC Magnus mold into something simply epic.  





The replacement hips are a little loose though but that's easy to fix right?

Also I can't seem to get this mushroom peg fully in. Do you guys have a trick to doing this?



By the way I don't know if anyone has this problem yet but it seems that this piece that's a part of the new waist for the armour just easly falls off.



I'm thinking of using some glue on this so I'm not too upset but does anyone else have this problem?

 

Lots of people, including me, have had that problem. Super glue fixed it and I haven't thought about it since.

 

I'm still thinking of getting the optimus armor too.

Just got Mebsuta yesterday, and Magnus is now 10 times better. Though, I did like FOC Magnus even before the armor was announced.

 

I am currently Trying the Future floor wax fix for the hips. I am letting it cure at the moment, however, it does feel allot tighter now. Thank for the tips.

 

Id love to get the Magnus one but the cost is an issue. This literally costs as much as a full figure. Maybe sometime down the line.

 

Fix the waist armor with glue no problem and the mushroom peg for the leg is hard as you will need to put it against a hard surface like a table or something and PUSH.

 

Is it me or dose this look badass?

 

I fixed mine with some Vintage Future Floor Wax(I think it was in the garage since 1985), now he holds up very well, no more more splits or falling backwards. Still I may need to add some to the ball joint in his feet.

I even fixed old Prime Ultra Magnus.

Beware I broke is hip armor it really a fragile part.

Well I was messing with Ultra Magnus just now and found a way to make a trailer hitch. Use the axe piece. Put the axe blade between his feet then put the part that clips over the gun handle between the front of the trailer and the chest flap/missile pods. It's slightly askew but it allows me to pull Magnus and the trailer forward.

 

I'll have to remember to do that then.   Cool idea Rexidus.

 

I've heard that this set has weak elbows/floppy arms. How bad is it really? Has anyone had to fix theirs? I've never tried to fix a pin joint before so I'm kinda nervous about this issue. I'd like to get a handle on it before I commit to buying.

 

no i don't think it has weak elbows,but now that the price of city commander has gone down a significant amount i would pick that up instead unless you like the looks of this better

 

Honestly I wouldn't recommend the set now. It was neat when it came out and I quite liked it a lot back then but my opinion has become more and more negative as the weeks/months have rolled by as its become looser and weaker over time in more than just the elbows. Even the hip joints which I fixed have once again become loose.

With another better magnus on the market, an mp on the way and a likely better classics-ish version also in the works via toyworld I'd say this guy had his brief time in the spotlight but quickly lost it and it shall never be regained. Even citycommander would still be a better option really.

Which is a shame, was really rooting for these guys but now I kinda hope their next armor set doesn't require this one or the deluxe magnus at all as it would be a giant waste I think.

 

The one I have has elbows that are just fine. A little loose but not the severe kind thankfully. I think it differs from copy to copy.

 

Mine did have a slight issue holding heavier things but a little floor polish fixed it all up.

I still like mine a lot and would recommend him as long as people know what they're getting.

 

Toyworld is making one? Do they have a silhouette or preview pics and such?

 

They have a teaser, and we have a thread for it. No further info, but it's been officially announced by them that they are indeed doing idw magnus and bomber Megs.
