Agreed. I wonder how hard it would be to have that part removed, a copy molded or 3D printed and then reattached? Then we don't need to paint it, and it can stay white while transforming without scratches. Someone with a 3D printer, or someone who has modded their TE01, is that grey bar piece removable and replaceable easily, or would it be a big deal to switch out? I'm not good with pins.

 

Not sure I’m in love with the new windows but otherwise I like this even more than the V1 I had. Such a great toy.

Bottom line for me, TE01 is a brick house. Which as a kid I remember thinking Optimus Prime is extremely tough Built Tough. The Brick House. He can take a beating and keep on coming back. The same too with Megatron. With TE01, they made it feel like the cartoon a brick house tough as nails. Mp44 by contrast, has a lot of fancy parts that allow for motion. The articulation is excessive. For me the concept of Optimus Prime from the cartoon as a child is personified like the third-party product. Optimus Prime never really had all that articulation in the classic cartoon from the logic that we had at that time watching they were robots. Robots didn't move like humans.

 

Great point, OP was pretty stiff in general in the cartoon. The TE-01 is as accurate as I could ever have hoped for. This is seriously a 5* figure.

 

My V3 arrived today. The frosted/less translucent windows are better in my book, as are the deleted shoulder emblem indent and added ratchets. When comparing to my MP-44 I still find that I wish that TE had the finish and poseability the MP has- but it's a damn fine representation of cartoon Optimus Prime. I'm keeping both.

My MS on the other hand may need a new home soon, lol.

 

Ya know.. Some company could clean up with an accessory pack for TE01. New shoulders with smaller smoke stacks. A chest insert to make it hide the matrix chamber. etc.. I'd definitely bite on that. A shoulder logo. A set of G1 style stickers for TE01. I want to see what that would look like.

My TE OP Leader has arrived yesterday and what do I think about him? He is great figure for the price. Solid, tight joints. Amazing G1 animation similarity. I love new semi blue visible windows. He is much more heavy than MS Light of Freedom. I have both of them and I have to say I lean towards TE this time. At the beginning when both where released in January 2019 I prefered MS more, due to TE having that silly white head but now... TE wins. I will keep them both ofcourse  

For the downside, my TE has a few white plastic marks in his both forearms and left earphone piece. Also some plastic signs on the back of his gun. What I do not like is the new red light on his gun. Otherwise he is great and has no more QC issues  

I am keeping TE with the rest of my Autobots on my MP shelf, while MS hangs with MP dinobots on the other shelf.

 

What Ironhide figure is that on the right? I am looking for an MP-sized Ironhide without blue-tinted windows.

If we're going off the pics on TFsource's page it does not seem to be the V3.
Besides, I'd recommend saving $45+ and getting from ShowZ for $99.99 shipped. ShowZ's is guaranteed V3.
