There are definitely more teeth on the ratchets on the second batch, both the arms and legs. It's the same on TE-01B so I've been able to compare by first run Optimus with my new Nemesis and the latter can definitely be posed with slightly more refinement.

The backs of the knees aren't painting BTW. They swapped the silver painted die cast knee joints for blue nylon on the second run. They also changed the colour of the ratchets in the hips from grey to blue and fixed the common problem of a slightly floppy left foot. None of this made me desperate to buy another copy of TE-01, even after handling TE-01B, but then I'm not constantly playing with or transforming my figures.

I'd rather have a complete package. Not two toys. And a Magnus that isn't insanely oversized like the Takara one.

Thats really disappointing (But a good improvement for those with V2) - I'll hate V1 due to the spacing but not willing to give them more money for that

If it's any consolation, it sounds like the difference is so minimal, even with them side by side it's difficult to tell. Like you have to go through 12 different comparison steps, which at the end you're still questioning if there's truly a difference. You should be more put off by the color difference if you have a major preference of one over the other, as that's actually obvious and noticeable... The ratchet thing is just an "I know there's a difference because someone reported it, therefore it annoys me!"

It doesn't annoy me there is a difference at all. I'm happy for running changes when there is a need to improve. I hate V1 as it stands due the poor articulation and I don't mean the range of movement but the steps available in that movement and new ratchets would help that.

Actually, I can tell easily when trying to pose my V1 and B versions. I can't get the V1 into the same poses as the B and it really annoys me.... I'll pose the B and think, I like how that looks then go the the V1 and it can't pull off the same position due to the wider ratchet spacing. They are definitely different.

Well, to be fair it's not some kind of OMG it's so different kind of deal. But it is different enough that it's obvious when you're messing and posing.

Maybe Diaclone? It's about time we had a decent Diaclone version of the cab. Even better if they decide to do trailer armour in g1/Diaclone colours.
